Chapter 33

Riona's POV

"I can call him if you want and told him I slept on the couch because I needed a place to stay"

"It's fine really," I replied the phone wedged between my ear and shoulders whilst I did the dishes

"I'll talk to you later," He ended the call abruptly

"Roxy and I are going to get Chick-fil-A, do you want to come with?"

"No thanks," I smiled at dad "I have a project to complete"

"Okay...Do you want us to get anything for you?"

"I'm good," I smiled

"Okay, bye"

"Bye."

The feeling of something wet on my bed woke me up and I stood up cursing. The bright red stain stood out against my grey bedspread.

I grabbed my tampon making my way to the bathroom.

Six thirty am.

Still no reply from Justin, I sent him a couple of texts before I went to bed but he still hadn't opened my messages.

I had my waffles hurriedly before realizing I had my own car, and I could leave anytime. I laughed so hard after realizing that the time I left the house was now up to me.

My phone buzzed while I was driving and I opened it hoping it would be from Justin but it was Lee. I ignored the message and focused on the road.

...

I got to school waiting by Justin's locker, hoping I'd catch him before class. I waited and waited until the school bell rang and Vivi dragged me to class.

"So what'd you do?" Vivi asked popping her bubble gum

"Nothing," I shrugged and slammed my locker shut

Classes went by in a blur and I still didn't catch sight of Justin or any of the boys.

I jogged up to Justin's car waiting for him there and he was heading for his car chatting with Ethan and Nico.

"hey guys," I said once they got within ear shot

"Hey," Nico smiled and Ethan looked between Justin and I before he tugged at Nico's arm

They both left while Justin and I settled into an uncomfortable silence.

"Can I explain what happened?"

"He slept in your room" he replied lowly

"He slept on the couch," I corrected "He needed a place to stay, I swear I would never do anything to hurt you," I sniffled

"He slept in your room, Ri,"

"He took the couch J.J, I promise nothing happened" My eyes were getting teary I don't know if it was the fear of losing my boyfriend or my best friend or because I'd felt like I was hiding something from him

He stretched his arms out to me and I smiled wrapping my arms around him. His warmth and cologne made me more emotional and I sobbed into his t shirt as he caressed my hair.

After about an hour of forgiveness and talking about whatnot, we went to get ice cream and we got back into the car staring at each other and burst into fits of laughter.

"What?" I asked in between laughs

"You can't tell me that lady dumping her boyfriend and then slipping and sliding on water wasn't funny," Justin replied laughing

"I want to give you something," Justin said and reached for something in the back seat

He brought out his Jersey and I frowned before realizing what he meant.

"Justin!" my eyes widened and he nodded

"I want you to wear it for my next game, next month,"

I ignored the Jersey moving over to the driver's seat to give him a hug.

"This is huge," I replied kissing him

"I love you," he said and I pulled back staring at him

"You know you don't have to say it back, no pressure," He smiled hugging me

"Thanks," I smiled burying my face in his neck as my back blared the horn loudly making us both jump before laughing

"Hey, it almost my curfew," I told Justin and he nodded starting the car.

"Now, I'm going to have to carpool tomorrow," I sighed as I got down from Justin's mustang

"Do you want me to pick you tomorrow?"

"It's fine, I'll go with Vivi," I replied as Justin rolled his window all the way down smiling

"What?" I mirrored his smile

I leaned him giving him a kiss as the headlights of a car blinded me. I pulled away and we both looked at the car and my mom's head appeared from the car and I stood straight up as she walked out of the car frowning.

"Hey mom," I awkwardly waved

"What are you doing?" She questioned and noticed Justin in the car behind me

"This wasn't the same boy I met the other day, are you double dating or something?"
