The house was quiet but I knew dad would never go to bed until I walked through the door. I walked over to his study knocking before pushing it open to see him buried in some papers.
My dad is a lieutenant so he's usually pretty busy but not busy enough not to be home for a couple of days like mom.
"Hey dad," I knocked on his door smiling
He looked up at me smiling "You're back and just in time,"
"Of course dad," I dragged out the words "I would never disobey you, I wouldn't want to be on house arrest,"
He chuckled smiling "How was your date?"
I walked in taking a seat opposite him while he's behind his desk
"Good,"
"Your mom should be home in an hour,"
"Don't wait up for her," I smiled tightly standing up "She might not come back today,"
A good week had passed since I and Leon started our lessons, we laughed a lot, he was funny and smart, most of his mistakes came from wrong measurement units which I attributed to the fact that European and American units are different. Cheerleading had been tiring, as usual, Vivi and Will seem to have gotten closer, Coco and Ethan were still their usual power couple while I and Justin are good as always.
Today I am tutoring Leon at my house because the café is going to be busy and we don't need distractions we have a test coming up later in the week and I somehow lost the custom necklace I found on the street.
I loved baking and I experimented a lot with it. Today I was gonna make some muffins. I had put the flour in a large bowl before the doorbell rang.
"Hey," I smiled opening the door for Leon
"Hello, Woah your house is huge," He stared not hiding his amazement
"C'mon, I'm making some muffins, wanna watch?"
"Sure,"
I walked him into the spacious kitchen and he took in everything before his eyes land on the counter where my ingredients stayed.
He sat on a barstool opposite me watching what I was doing with precision and I smiled amused.
"Hey, can you pass me the sugar?"
He stood up walking over to me before handing the sugar and propping his hand under his chin
I smiled at him mischievously before taking a handful of flour rubbing it on his shirt
"Oh no you didn't," He laughed grabbing a fistful and throwing it on my face
A loud laugh escaped from my throat as I smashed an egg on his head watched the yoke slide down his face.
He stared at me wide eyed before taking a look at the yoke that had settled on his nose.
"I think it's time I clean up," He laughed while I showed him to the bathroom located inside the guest room
"You can clean up here," I told him leaving to get a towel
"Got it," I smiled triumphantly holding the neatly folded towel and heading back to the guest room.
I walked in and set the folded towel on the bed. The bathroom door flung open, a half-naked Leon stared at me.
"Oh my God," I shielded my eyes from the inappropriate view "I'm sorry!" I covered my eyes and attempted to walk past him, I bumped into him and fell flat on my butt
"Hey, easy," Leon lets out an easy laugh accompanied by a strong French accent stretching his hand out to me
"Oh my God," I accept his hand standing on my two feet, my eyes move to his neck and I notice the custom chain I thought I accidentally misplaced.
"Hey," he snaps me out of my thought and I stare at him
"You stay in Harlem right?"
"Yeah?" He smiled "Can I change now?"
"Oops sorry,"
"Actually could I borrow a shirt or something?" He scratches the back of his neck showing me his stained shirt
"Umm...I'll be right back," I smiled avoiding his still naked torso
I offer him one of my dad's old shirts and it's a bit big but at least it was clean.
"Ugh, I gotta go, see you later?" He tells me in a rush heading for the door
"Sure, bye!" I call after him before making my way to the kitchen to clean up the mess
