Chapter 7: False Magic

The familiar battlefield surrounded the four as they readied for battle. "GATE CARD SET!" The four shouted, throwing their gate cards onto the field. The brothers took out two doom cards. "DOOM CARD SET!" They yelled as they threw down those cards. They sank into the ground and purple waves spread throughout the field. "I'll go first!" Jira said. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! HAOS SIEGE STAND!" The white and yellow knight bakugan swung around its spear. "Aubrey. Be very VERY careful. Any bakugan they beat even if it's their own will be sent straight to the doom dimension, never to be seen again. Plan your strategy carefully." Aya warned Aubrey. "Relax Aya this guy's nothing! Look at his Siege!" Aya looked at his bakupod. "Only 200g? Weak..." he noted. "Exactly! My Monarus will take it out even if it's on its own gate! BAKUGAN-" Aubrey readied. "WAIT AUBREY DON'T! THAT SIEGE IS HAOS!" But it was too late. "BRAWL! VENTUS MONARUS STAND!" The butterfly flew and attacked Siege. "See Aya? Nothing to worry about!" Aubrey said with confidence. "Oh is there?" Jira taunted. "GATE CARD OPEN! LIGHT MIRROR!"

Light Mirror: A gate card for haos bakugan. This gate card swaps the g power of the battling bakugan and reduces opponent's bakugan by 100g.

"Shit!" Aubrey said. "Take Monarus out, Siege!" Jira commanded. "ABILITY CARD-" Aubrey called but was cut off by Jira. "Not so fast! ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! SIEGE SPEAR!"

Siege Spear: ability card for Siege. Your opponent's ability card is negated once.

A bolt of yellow shot and broke Aubrey's ability card, causing Aubrey to grunt. The Siege slashed Monarus and it fell backwards. But instead of returning to ball form, a pixelated dark portal opened up and sucked Monarus inside, then closing. Monarus was gone. And Aubrey was shaken. "Wh...What the...hell?" She said aloud. While Cendrillion was her strongest and is technically her partner, Monarus was her 1st bakugan. And she won so many games with it. All those fond memories, gone. Monarus was ripped from her in an instant. Aya looked at her in frustration. "I TOLD YOU TO BE CAREFUL! I TOLD YOU TO THINK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!" Aya suddenly stopped. Thinking Aubrey would be angry with him for yelling like that at her. "Aubrey I-I'm sorry-" Aubrey cut him off. "No. You're right. I didn't listen to you despite your warnings. And my Monarus paid dearly for it." She wiped a tear from her eye and stood up. "I lost her and it's my fault. I can't save her." She readied a gate card, gritting her teeth. "BUT I CAN FUCKING AVENGE HER DAMMIT!" Aubrey yelled as she threw down her gate card. Aubrey grabbed Cendrillion. "You with me?" She asked. "To the very end, mistress." Aubrey clutched her partner and readied. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! VENTUS CENDRILLION STAND!" Cendrillion rose upon the card Aubrey recently threw down. Kira laughed. "Let's have some fun! BAKUGAN BRAWL! VENTUS GRIFFIN STAND!" The lion like bakugan flew around the card its owner had thrown it to. The card right in front of Aubrey's. (This is perfect. If Jira can throw down his haos Mantris, use the ability card "marionette", Cendrillion will be sent straight to the doom dimension!) Kira thought to himself. Little did they know, tricks are a 2 way street. Aubrey leaned and whispered in Aya's ear. "Throw down Laserman". She said. Aya was confused. But then realized what card Aubrey had thrown down. Cendrillion's character card. "Heh. You got it!" He shouted. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! DARKUS LASERMAN STAND!" Laserman stood on the card closest to Aya. "What? You think that over-sized tin can can beat me?" Kira mocked. "Oh no he can't...but she can" Aya said, pointing to Aubrey. "What?" Kira questioned. Aya pulled out an ability card. "ABILITY CARD, ACTIVATE! TRACTOR BEAM!" Laserman fired beams from his canons. "Alright, Griffin. Prepare to meet your maker! And by maker, I mean ventus Cendrillion!" Kira gasped as he realized what was happening. It was too late however, and Griffin landed straight on the same card where Cendrillion was hovering over. "Prepare to taste my blade, fowl creature!" Cendrillion said. "He's all yours Aubrey." Aya said with a smirk and patting Aubrey on the shoulder. "GATE CARD OPEN!" Aubrey shouted. "CHARACTER CARD MOTHER FUCKER!" The card opened as Cendrillion roared with power. "Cendrillion power level doubled to 1060G" the bakupods spoke. "Shit!" Kira exclaimed. Cendrillion made quick work of Griffin. But Aubrey wasn't done yet. "ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! VORTEX AVENGER!"
