Chapter 11: Tournament pt3; FlamingoGawd vs VioletVortex

Aya woke up with a jolt in the Collosium's infirmary. He groaned, grabbing his head. "Ugh...my head...what happened? Ok let's see...I battled against MudaMan...I used that dark aura thing and sent out drag- DRAGONOID!" Aya realized as he looked for his partner. "I'm right here Aya." Dragonoid called to him from the small stand next to the bed. "There you are. You ok?" Aya asked his partner. "Yes I'm fine. Are you?" Dragonoid replied. "My head hurts but other than that I'm fine." Aya rubbed his eyes. "Glad to see that you're ok, Aya." A voice said. Primeval and Jamie stepped from the door frame. "You...Primeval right?" Aya said. "Yes that's me. I'd like to talk to you for a bit." Primeval said taking a seat followed by Jamie sitting in an adjacent chair. "O...k?" Aya said raising a brow. "Alright spill it. What is that power Aya used? What is Black Conviction?" Jamie asked with a stern look. "Black Conviction?" Aya asked. "That dark aura that surrounds you and powers your Bakugan. Tell me, Aya, do you have any...how should I put this...abnormal feelings? Like a feeling you don't think should be there that just never seems to go away?" Primeval asked. Aya sat and thought for a moment. Should he tell them? About the burning? How would Jamie react? How would Wokko and Aubrey react? He took a deep breath. "I'm not sure how to exactly describe it. But...ever since my sister hung herself, I always had this...burning. It's always been there but whenever I battle it seems to flare up even more. But it never really...exploded I guess is the term. My first experience was technically against Aubrey when I first got Dragonoid, but it didn't last long at all and it didn't seem to be all there. But when I went against those magicians who worked for the masked man, it just erupted. All I wanted to do was destroy their Bakugan and leave nothing left. When MudaMan started to taunt me...it reminded me how helpless I was to prevent Mary's loss. How helpless I was to prevent Aubrey's Monarus from being sent to the Doom Dimension. All of it just boiled over and...well you saw what happened." Aya explained. "Aya...I...I had no idea." Jamie said as if sounding a little guilty. "Don't worry about it Jamie. It's not like you could've known." Aya said with a small smile. "Yeah. That's a phenomenon called Black Conviction. It appeared right around the time the Bakugan came to Earth. Certain Brawlers can enter this state of mind and soul. Their common sense and compassion completely fade and in place, an urge to accomplish whatever goal in front of them is, no matter the cost. However, it also seems to increase their Bakugan's strength. Even going as far as altering their body slightly. You may not have noticed, but when you entered into Black Conviction, your Mantris's fangs and blades grew sharper and its eyes glowed. This is due to the Brawler and Bakugan's connection. The stronger the connection, the bigger the boost in strength. However, Black Conviction is extremely rare and very dangerous. I once had a very close friend who was able to use Black Conviction. He was able to use pretty well until one day, a man showed up and...well to put it bluntly, his Bakugan will never come back. And his Black Conviction got so out of control...it killed him." Primeval said looking down. Aya and Jamie's eyes widened. "Primeval...I'm so sorry. I know exactly how that feels." Aya spoke. "I know...you mentioned your sister hung herself due to a masked man getting rid of her Bakugan forever. That is what awoke the Black Conviction within you." Primeval explained. "But if you can master using it, your chances against the masked man would be greatly increased." Primeval said. He got up from his chair. "That is all. Thank you for your time." He said, exiting. Jamie turned to Aya. "Can you walk?" He asked. Aya got up, testing his stability. Surprisingly, he could walk just fine. "Yeah." Aya replied as he grabbed Dragonoid and the rest of his Bakugan. "Come on. Aubrey's battle is about to start." Jamie said heading out the door. Aya nodded and followed. Outside, Aubrey readied herself for her opponent, FlamingoGawd. FlamingoGawd was taking selfies on the other side before notcing Aubrey. "Get ready to get shredded nerd!" He taunted. "I already wanna kill him." Aubrey thought to herself. "Don't let him get to you Mistress." Cendrillion said. Aubrey readied her field card along with FlamingoGawd. "You ready nerd!?" He called. "Born ready." Aubrey replied. "BAKUGAN TOURNAMENT FIELD OPEN!" They yelled. The all too familiar field opened and the battle begun. "GATE CARD SET!" FlamingoGawd smirked. "Let's do it! BAKUGAN BRAWL! HAOS WARIUS STAND!" Warius stood on FlamingoGawd's card and growled as it twirled its club. Aubrey grabbed her first Bakugan. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! RAVENOID STAND!" Ravenoid flew up and screeched. "ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! TORNADO TRANSFER!"
