Chapter 12: Tournament pt 4; Primeval vs Geo

Jamie stepped up to the cheering stadium. He looked forward face to face at his opponent. Primeval. "Ready for this, Geo?" Primeval asked. "I am." Jamie replied. "Oh, before this battle starts..." Jamie started. Primeval tilted his head up in response. "Thank you for helping Aya and I understand what's going on." Jamie said. "Not a problem. Now enough talking..." Primeval suddenly threw off his jacket, revealing his tattoos. "LET US BATTLE!" He yelled out. The crowd went wild and both brawlers pulled out their field cards. "TOURNAMENT FIELD OPEN!" They called. The field surrounded them as they readied themselves. "GATE CARD SET!" Their gate cards landed in the proper position. "Allow me to go first." Primeval said reaching for his first Bakugan. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! PYRUS TERRORCLAW STAND!" Terroclaw made a slight gurgled growl as it pinched its claws. Jamie reeled back, ready to throw. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! SUBTERRA LIMULUS STAND!" The horseshoe crab Bakugan met Terrorclaw's gaze.

"Terrorclaw Power Level 460g. Limulus Power Level 430g."

Terrorclaw swiped at Limulus which slid to dodge. "ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! FIRE OF COURAGE!" Primeval roared.

Fire of Courage - Ability Card for Pyrus. Increases g-power by 100g

Jamie pushed his glasses up. "As expected of a Pyrus Brawler." He said smirking. "Hm?" Primeval questioned. "GATE CARD OPEN! QUICK SAND!"

Quick Sand - Subterra Gate Card. Opponent's Bakugan is trapped and loses 150g.

"Hm! Impressive!" Primeval said as Limulus tackled Terrorclaw to the ground, defeating it. Jamie caught Limulus's ball, smirking as he did so. "GATE CARD SET!" Jamie called, setting another gate card, ready for the next battle. Meanwhile in the stands, Aya and Aubrey were cheering their hearts out for Jamie. But Wokko wasn't saying much. Which was weird since out of the 4 of them, he was the one who would cheer the loudest. Aya, noticing this, turned to his friend. "Wokko? Is everything ok?" He asked. Wokko jolted for a second then looked at Aya. "Oh! Uh, yeah bro! I'm fine!" Wokko replied. "You sure?" Aya asked again. "Aya, bro! I'm ok really!" Wokko said. Aya could see right through it. He knew better than anyone what sadness looked like. But he thought it best to ignore for now and address the issue later. Back at the battle, Jamie readies his second Bakugan. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! LIMULUS STAND!" Limulus rose onto the Gate Card set previously by Jamie. Primeval took a deep breath. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! PYRUS SERPENOID STAND!" Serpenoid slithered up and hissed. "ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! CONTROLLED FLAME!" Primeval said.

Controlled Flame - Ability Card for Pyrus. Move the last of your opponent's Bakugan that stood to another Gate Card.

A vortex of flame engulfed Limulus which then moved to Primeval's card, spitting out Limulus.

"Limulus Power Level 430g. Serpenoid Power Level 440g."

"GATE CARD OPEN!" Primeval commanded with his hand stretched. "PYRUS LOCK!"

Pyrus Lock - Pyrus Gate Card. No Bakugan may use Ability Cards except for Pyrus Bakugan.

"Shit!" Jamie exclaimed. Serpenoid lunged and wrapped its body around Limulus before defeating it. Both Bakugan returned to ball form. "This isn't over yet!" Jamie exclaimed. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! CENTEPOID STAND!" Centepoid rose up, pinching its pincers. Primeval reached for his Bakugan. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! SERPENOID STAND!"

"Serpenoid Power Level 440g. Centepoid Power Level 390g."

The battle began and both brawlers wasted no time. "GATE CARD OPEN! ATTRIBUTE!" Jamie commanded. The arena turned into a desert like area, increasing Centepoid's power by 150g. "Nice try but not happening! ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! BURNED LAND!" Primeval called.

Burned Land - Pyrus Ability Card. Nullifies opponent's gate card. And reduces opponent's Bakugan by 100.

"NOW TAKE HIM DOWN SERPENOID!" Primeval commanded his Bakugan. After a swift bite, Serpenoid defeated Centepoid. Jamie grunted as Centepoid's ball returned to his feet. Primeval caught Serpenoid, smirking as he did so. "Jamie..." a voice called. "Yeah. You're up Gaianoid." Jamie said, clutching his partner. "GATE CARD SET! BAKUGAN BRAWL! SUBTERRA GAIANOID STAND!" Jamie commanded. Gaianoid roared as she raised her sword. "What the..." Primeval said stunned. He had never seen a Bakugan so...unique. He saw Cendrillion but to him it seemed merely a powered up Monarus. But this thing was different from anything he'd ever seen. It mattered not however, Primeval was still determined to win. "BAKUGAN BRAWL! SERPENOID STAND!"

"Serpenoid Power Level 440g. Gaianoid Power Level 510g."

"GATE CARD OPEN! CHARACTER!" Jamie yelled. The card opened with a picture of Gaianoid, doubling her G-Power. Gaianoid swung her sword, striking Serpenoid and defeating it. "It's all come down to this." Jamie mumbled. They both had one Bakugan left. The next battle will decide it. "GATE CARD SET!" Primeval called. He looked at his final Bakugan. The 1st bakugan he ever received. Pyrus Griffon. "Griffon...I'm counting on you." Primeval mumbled. He clutched his Bakugan in his fist which seemed to catch flame. Primeval suddenly jumped up. "LET'S FINISH THIS! JAMIE!!! BAKUGAN BRAWL!" Primeval threw the Griffon with all his might, almost as if punching. The Bakugan left a firey trail as it rolled. "PYRUS GRIFFON STAND!" Griffon flew up engulfed in flame. It roared at Jamie, as if challenging him. "Let's end this! Gaianoid! BAKUGAN BRAWL! GAIANOID STAND!" The two Bakugan glared each other down.

"Griffon Power Level 470g. Gaianoid Power Level 510g."

"YOU'RE MINE!" Jamie yelled. "Come at me Jamie!!!" Primeval shouted in response. "ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! MAGNITUDE X!"

Magnitude X - Ability card for Gaianoid. Increases g power by 200

"It's over Primeval! ATTACK, GAIANOID!" Jamie commanded his Bakugan. "That's where you are wrong! GATE CARD OPEN! PYRUS SWAP!"

Pyrus Swap - Gate Card for Pyrus. Swap g-powers with your Opponent's Bakugan.

"Crap! Gotta think fast! ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! FURY OF-" Jamie was about to activate his other Ability Card, but was interrupted. "NOT SO FAST! ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE! LION-SNAKE WING!"

Lion-Snake Wing - Ability Card for Pyrus Griffon. Nullifies Opponent's Ability Card.

Jamie's eyes widened. Griffon roared as it dived and attacked Gaianoid relentlessly. As Gaianoid fell, she looked at Jamie. "I'm...sorry Jamie." She said. "It's ok Gaianoid. It's not your fault." Gaianoid returned to ball form and the field closed. Primeval was the victor. He walked up to a defeated Jamie, and held out his hand. "You fought well. You really did. Good job Jamie." He said. Jamie reached out and shook his hand. Jamie turned and walked back to his team. "Jamie!" Aya called. "Guys...I'm sorry." Jamie said bowing in apologies. "Don't worry dude. It's not over yet!" Aubrey said. "Let's talk more in the room." Aya suggested. Back in the room, Jamie spoke. "So, I'd like to elaborate more on my plan to train Aya's Black Conviction." He said, fixing his glasses. "Oh yeah we didn't really finish that did we?" Aya said. "Yeah..." Wokko sighed. "Wokko? What's wrong?" Aya asked. "Nothin bro! I'm good!" Wokko said with a smile. Aya wasn't falling for it this time. "Wokko I can tell you're sad. It's practically written all over your face. What's bothering you? We want to help you but we can't if we don't know what's wrong. We're a team, Wokko. We look out for each other." Aya explained with a worried look. Wokko paused, looking down. "I didn't have any friends. Before you guys came along, nobody really wanted to be my friend. Sure I had teammates on a volleyball team, but they weren't friends. So when you guys became friends with me, it was like the best thing ever. Especially when you gave me those Pyrus Bakugan, Aya. That was the nicest thing anyone has done for me. But when Jamie mentioned that Primeval's friend died from using Black Conviction...well..." Wokko started to tear up. "I...thought about that happening to you. I...I don't want that to happen! I CAN'T have that happen! I don't want to lose one of my first and only friends! I...I..." Wokko was interrupted by a group hug from Aya, Aubrey and Jamie. "I totally get that dude. I was thinking the exact same thing. I dunno what I'd do if I lost Aya." Aubrey said. "I admit the possibility shook me a little as well." Jamie added. "But this might by our biggest shot against the Masked Man. Don't worry, Wokko. I'll be careful. I won't die. Not from that." Aya assured. Wokko composed himself. "Right. You're tough Aya! Ain't no Black Conviction takin you down man!" Wokko said with a big smile. A genuine smile this time. "Sorry for worrying you guys!" Wokko apologized. "It's no problem. Now get on out there, your match is about to begin!" Aya said. "Oh crap you're right!" Wokko started jogging in place, psyching himself. "Got your deck and strategy ready?" Jamie asked. "You bet! I'm ready! You ready, Inferneon?" Wokko asked looking at his partner. "You bet I am! I'm always ready for a battle!" Inferneon said with an excited tone. "Then let's gooooooo!!!" Wokko shouted running down the hall. "Good luck!" Aubrey shouted. "I won't let you guys down!" Wokko shouted as he ran towards the stadium light.
