Chapter 29: Alliance and Celebration

"Woah! Jamie! This is your place?" Dan exclaimed. "Yeah. I know it isn't as big as Marucho's, but I'm lucky to be able to live here." Jamie said unlocking the front door. The group entered the abode. "Hey big bro! Why you got a group so large?" Monique asked. "Long story. We're going to be discussing some things." Jamie explained. "Oh. Ok!" Monique said. She went into the kitchen to grab some snacks and drinks for the group. Sally leaned over to Aubrey. "That's Jamie's sis?" Sally whispered. "Yeah." Aubrey replied. Sally got a grin on her face. "Sally. Bad." Aubrey scolded. "Ah chill. As cute as she is, I doubt she's into girls like I am." Sally shrugged. "Oh? I didn't know you swung that way." Aubrey said, slightly shocked. "What way don't I swing would be better." Sally joked. "You know that makes sense." Aubrey mumbled as they followed the group in. Everyone took a seat while Monique entered. "I wasn't sure what everyone wanted so I just made a bit of everything!" Monique said placing an assortment of snacks on a large plate. "Ah sweet! Thanks...uhh..." Dan said. "Monique! Nice to meet you!" Monique introduced. "Mmm! These are delish! Thanks!" Runo cheered. "Wokko you good?" Aubrey asked, noticing him shaking. "I...am in the presence...of Dan Kuso...and two of the Battle Brawlers...oh my god." Wokko said. Aubrey chuckled at this. "Forgive him. He's a bit of a fanboy." Aubrey shrugged. "Ah no biggie! Can't blame ya though, I AM pretty awesome." Dan said. "So, we all have a common goal of taking down Masquerade, but I feel there's something bigger at play. Would any of you know anything about that?" Jamie asked. "As a matter of fact, there is." Drago opened. "Go on." Jamie said. "As you all may know, us Bakugan came from another dimension known as "Vestroia". It's a dimension comprised of 7 segments. 6 of them being the attributes you know. The 7th was the center of Vestroia. Where the Silent and Infinity Cores resided. One day however, a Bakugan known as Naga had tried to absorb the Silent Core. However this resulted in Vestroia becoming unstable, and causing the Bakugan to come to Earth." Drago explained. "Naga. That bastard." Abyssion growled. "Seems you have encountered him too. I've never seen a Bakugan like you though. Who are you?" Drago asked. "I'm Abyssion." Abyssion replied. "We might as well introduce our other Bakugan as well. They are quite unique." Jamie said. One by one, The Kara placed their partners on the table and one by one they opened up. "My name is Cendrillion." Cendrillion said. "Woah! You look like some souped up Monarus!" Dan exclaimed. "Yes, I get that quite often. However I assure you I am not a Monarus." Cendrillion said. "Anyways, my name is Gaianoid." Gaianoid introduced herself. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Gaianoid." Tigrera said. Inferneon and Archangelo soon followed up. Everyone had gotten acquainted. "Wait, I have a question. Naga's got the Silent Core right? What about the Infinity Core?" Wokko asked. "That's the problem. We are not sure. But we need to find it before Naga does!" Drago explained. "I see. Is it possible Masquerade and Naga are connected somehow?" Jamie asked. "Not only is it possible. It's quite likely they are." Drago said. "Then both are our enemy. We can work together to take them both down." Aubrey said, cracking her knuckles. "Heck yeah! But if you guys don't mind me asking, what's your beef with Masquerade?" Dan asked. "Truth be told, only a couple of us have any personal grudge against him. Only I and Wokko had lost bakugan to him. Mostly, our grudge with him is connected to Aya." Jamie said. "What's his thing against him? Did he also lose some Bakugan?" Runo asked. The expressions of some of the Kara turned somber. "If only it were just that." Jamie said. "Aubrey? You wanna tell em?" Wokko asked. Aubrey nodded. "About a couple of years ago, maybe less, Aya's sister, Mary, went to battle Masquerade to avenge her friend. But Mary lost. Hard. She lost her Bakugan that she were heavily attached to." Aubrey started. "So Aya wants to avenge her Bakugan! I gotcha!" Dan smirked. "I wasn't done. It gets worse. Much worse. I'll skip the unimportant details and get straight to it. One night, Aya had to get up. He noticed Mary wasn't in her bed. So he went downstairs to find her in the backyard. He went to go check on her but when he got close enough he found that..." Aubrey shivered. "She had...she..." Aubrey tried to put it lightly since the Brawlers were younger. "She offed herself." Sally suddenly said bluntly. "S-Sally!" Aubrey jolted. "There's no point in beating around the bush." Sally said. "I...guess you're right." Aubrey said. "Th-that's...horrible!" Runo stammered. She felt her eyes get wet. "I can't believe-" Marucho started. Suddenly, Dan yelled, slamming his fist onto the table. "YOU GOTTA BE JOKING ME! NO WONDER AYA HATES THAT FREAK SO MUCH! HOW LOW CAN THAT PSYCHO GO MAN!?" Dan yelled. Anger flooding from him. "Unforgivable..." Drago growled. "How dare he." Tigrera also growled. "That's it! That guy is going DOWN!" Preyas yelled. It wasn't often Preyas was serious, but hearing this made his blood boil. "I suppose this should also lead into explaining to you what Black Conviction is." Jamie fixed his glasses. "Oh yeah, that." Dan said. "Well, it's a little tricky to describe what exactly it is. I'll just tell you what Primeval told me. Black Conviction is a strange phenomenon. It appeared right around the time the Bakugan came to Earth. Certain Brawlers can enter this state of mind and soul. Their common sense sense of compassion completely fade and in place, an urge to accomplish whatever goal in front of them is, no matter the cost. However, it also seems to increase their Bakugan's strength. Even going as far as altering their body slightly. This is due to the Brawler and Bakugan's connection. The stronger the connection, the bigger the boost in strength. However, Black Conviction is extremely rare and very dangerous. Primeval even said he had a friend who could use it. But it killed him. Aya recently learned how to use Black Conviction when he got his Dragonoid." Jamie explained. "A connection to brawler and Bakugan that increases strength to achieve a goal? Interesting. This would make excellent research." Marucho said, curious. "Truly. Were Aya to master it. It would be a great tool against Masquerade and possibly Naga." Jamie said. "Wooo! This is getting me fired up! Naga and Masquerade are in so much trouble now!" Dan shouted. "Typical Dan." Runo shrugged. "Hey! I got an idea! Let's have a battle! Right here right now! Me, Runo and Marucho vs 3 of you guys!" Dan shouted. "Oh you're ON!" Wokko jumped up. "As much as I'd love to, we have a problem. We're a bit...short." Aubrey sighed. "Huh? But Aub, you and Jamie are kinda tall." Wokko said, confused. "On Bakugan you dolt!" Aubrey said angrily, punching Wokko's arm. "Ow! Sorry!" Wokko apologized. "Oh...right. Well we can always-" Dan was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Who could that be?" Marucho asked. Sally jolted up, reaching into her pocket. "Sally? What are you doing?" Aubrey asked. "If it's Antivirus coming to finish the job, then I got something for em. I've had it up to HERE with these mother fuckers." Sally growled. She went to the door, pulling her hand out of her pocket revealing what she was referring to. A switchblade. Sally ripped open the door, pointing the blade out. "NOW LISTEN HERE YOU MASK-" Sally shouted. "GAAH! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU YOU PSYCHO!?!?" Aya shouted, kicking Sally in the head, knocking her to the ground. "Bluuuh sorry Ayaaa...I thought you might be Antivirus..." Sally replied. "I doubt they even know about this place." Aya said. "I'm just not going to ask why you have one of those, Sally. Welcome back Aya." Aubrey said. "Hey. So, what I miss?" Aya asked. "We were just explaining to these three some things. Jamie said. "Nice." Aya replied. "Indeed. So what did Primeval have to say?" Jamie asked. "I'll tell you guys in the morning. But for now let's just say I have so much more to learn about Black Conviction than I thought." Aya replied. "I see. What's in the boxes?" Jamie asked. "Oh right! Destroyer 4 gave us some gifts to give us an edge! Bakugan and cards!" Aya said. "Oh sweet! That was awesome of them!" Wokko cheered. "Heh, yeah! They're marked by attribute so get your correlating box." Aya said. Each of the Kara gathered, getting their box. They were excited at the gifts, but it became a bit sad when they looked a certain Bakugan. Bakugan that they loved but were lost. Aubrey, a Monarus. Not her Monarus. But a Monarus. Jamie with a Juggernoid, Wokko with a Saurus, Sally with a Fear Ripper, Tasha with a Hynoid, and Aya with a Laserman. There was silence before Aya held up the Laserman, similar to holding up a glass for a toast. "We may have lost our old partners. These replacements may be nothing more than that. They won't fill the void they left. We can't bring them back. But we can make sure their sacrifices were not in vain." Aya said. The Kara held up their replacements, and touched them together. "You truly care about your Bakugan. I can tell that, though we may have differences, we will make a fine team." Drago said. Aya nodded. "Hey, since you've got new Bakugan..." Dan smirked. "Oh yeah! We can battle now! I'm definitely in!" Wokko shouted. "Alright! Who else? How bout you Aya?" Dan asked. "I'd love to, but I got done battling Dusk and Primeval. I'm kinda tired. Sorry." Aya said. "No problem man! I get it! You deserve a rest!" Dan smiled. "Hey, since we've got Pyrus, Aquos, and Haos on our side, how about your Pyrus, Aquos, and Haos users go too!" Marucho suggested. "Aw I love that idea dude! Sally! Tasha! You're up!" Wokko called. "Oh hell yeah!" Sally jumped up. "I'd like to. But...I..." Tasha said before suddenly fainting. "Tasha!" Aubrey said. "She'll be ok. She just needs rest like me." Aya said, laying Tasha on the couch. "Well, that leaves either me or you Jamie." Aubrey said. "Would you like to, Aubrey?" Jamie asked. "I would, but I'm not gonna stand in your way if you wanna go." Aubrey said. "Here, I'll flip a coin. Heads for Aubrey, Tails for Jamie." Aya said. He pulled out a coin and flipped it. "Heads. You're up Aubrey!" Aya said. "Alright! Get over here, Aubs!" Sally motioned. After their decks were built, Wokko, Aubrey, and Sally were ready to go. "Alright let's get it on!" Dan exclaimed excitedly. Suddenly Dan realized. "Ah crud! I gotta get home or mom's gonna kill me! Sorry guys I gotta skip out on this time. We'll definitely battle some other time though!" Dan said. "It's cool, we get it!" Wokko said. "Yeah I should probably get home too. Dad's probably worried sick." Runo said. "Same here." Marucho added. "Aight gang. See you soon!" Aya said. "So the plan is in 2 days, me and the others will come by with my private jet and we'll all search for the Infinity Core together!" Marucho explained. They said their farewells and left. "Hey guys. I got an idea for tomorrow night." Sally piped up. "What's that?" Wokko asked. "How about we all meet up at my uncle's club and celebrate kicking Antivirus's asses!" Sally shouted. "Woah your uncle has a club!?" Wokko asked. "Oh yeah. I've been there. Pretty nice." Aubrey said. "I don't see why we don't kick back and relax." Jamie said. "I'm in." Aya said. "What about Tasha?" Wokko asked. "Ah she's in whether she likes it or not!" Sally said, smiling. "Heh. Alright then. Sounds like a plan." Aya said. A bit of talking later and soon people went to sleep.
