"Mama there is no cheese here. How am I supposed to make sandwiches for myself?" Esmeralda complained, looking inside the fridge for the fifth time, hoping that the cheese would magically appear out of nowhere.
"Buy it." came her mother's reply.
Esmeralda groaned loudly letting her hands fall from the kitchen counter and held her mother's hand.
"But I don't wanna go," she whined, feeling too lazy to move her arse.
"Well honey you gotta go. Because I have some calls to make to my co-workers. Go to the supermarket and get some cheese. Buy a few more things for yourself if you want to."
"Okay." she finally said after a few mental debates.
Esmeralda ran to her room and took out some money from her purse. She put the money in the pocket of her shorts and put on her flip-flops, running outside.
She took out her orange cycle and sat on it. The breeze was making her hair fly in various directions, even sticking to her lips on which she had recently applied lip balm.
She regretted not tying her hair.
The supermarket was a bit far from her home but she liked riding her cycle in the breeze.
After a few minutes, she saw the supermarket and applied the brakes making her cycle skid to a halt. She got off the cycle and went into the store.
The sliding doors opened automatically, sensing her presence. As soon as she entered the supermarket its cool air hit her making her shiver ever so slightly.
She put her arms around her body, letting her body get used to the slightly cool temperature.
Esmeralda looked around when the faint scent of a certain cologne hit her nose. It was quite familiar.
She brushed it off and moved forward. She looked around a bit and finally spotting the cheese she grabbed the packet and looked around a bit more.
She wanted to buy a few more things so she moved around looking everywhere and finally decided on taking a huge bar of chocolate, a jar of instant coffee and M&Ms for Ray. She had promised to buy him his favourite candy, especially after she ate them all.
She walked towards the cashier and handed him all the food items she was carrying.
"Ran out of cheese again Esme?" the cashier, Ryan asked her taking the items with a smile on his face.
Esmeralda gave him a sheepish smile, "I love cheese. I couldn't help it."
Ryan laughed slightly and pointed towards his right.
"Well, I know how much you like chocolates too. In case you didn't know, there is a huge box of 'Ferrero Rocher' over there."
Esmeralda smiled brightly letting out an excited squeal and ran towards the box. She took the huge box and handed it over to Ryan.
"Well, that's it?"
"Yep."
"Okay, here you go." Ryan handed her all the items in a brown bag and she handed him over the money.
Esmeralda walked outside with the bag in her hand and put it in the basket of her cycle.
As she was about to sit on her cycle she heard her name being called by a familiar voice. She looked back to see Andres along with his father and another woman.
A smile involuntarily made its way to her face, mainly because she saw her crush. She tried not to blush like an idiot this time.
"Hello Bella," she said to the woman with them.
