"I'm taking a leave today."
Esmeralda looked at her father while sipping on her chocolate milk. "Really and the rest of the Immortals?"
"I've sent them a message. They can take leave too." Aldric sipped his coffee.
Esmeralda thought for a while. If they are taking a leave then it would be a good opportunity for them to attack the Immortals. But she and Raiden wouldn't be able to do it without her mother's permission. And if they try to contact her asking for permission there is a chance that Aldric might know about it.
It was risky. Their cover might get blown. They wouldn't do it today.
Attacking them required planning and strategy, which they wouldn't be able to come up with in a short period of time anyway.
"That's good. You guys can take a break. But have you thought about the Dark Pearl?" Esmeralda asked wanting to know what her father would do if they attacked them.
"Yes. They won't attack us today. Because Thunder has had a few injuries and as for Feline; she has had some minor injuries too. There is no way that their commander is letting them fight us with those injuries. The injuries may be minor but they would want themselves to be in their best form to fight us. So that's why we're taking a leave today."
Aldric was right. She and Raiden did have a few injuries. However, her injuries were minor compared to Raiden's.
They would just use physical illusions and glamour to hide them from others.
"I wish Mama could take a leave too."
"It's okay. I was thinking of picking you, Ray, Brooke, Andres and Phoenix from school and taking you out to the bakery for cakes, cupcakes, coffee whatever you kiddos want. You can meet your mother there too."
Her mood brightened upon hearing of food. She beamed a smile at her father.
"I love coffee. Thanks papa. Bye." Esmeralda hugged her father and walked out of the house to see Raiden outside.
''Ah, there you are. Let's get going now.''
______________
"Bella and James are getting married."
"Yeah. Bella wanted me to be one of her bridesmaids." Esme looked at Leah and Deirdre.
"That's awesome. She wanted us to be her bridesmaids too. This is gonna be fun." Deirdre clapped her hands, squealing with excitement.
"I never really knew that we could be bridesmaids too. We are too young I think." Leah pondered.
"Oh no. We are gonna be junior bridesmaids.'' Deirdre said to her friends.
"What about our dresses and all?"
"She hasn't bought her wedding dress yet and we have to go with her to try on our bridesmaid's dresses as well."
"I think we all can wear different dresses. That way we will be able to show off our unique style and personality."
"Well, that's a good idea, Esme. I can't wait to try on the dresses."
"It is an autumn-themed wedding. I think that we are gonna wear orange or red gowns." Esmeralda shrugged.
"But I feel nervous already." Leah tapped her stomach indicating the butterflies in them.
"Forget about the damn wedding. Focus on today's ball. Oh and Esme, I bet Andres is gonna faint when he sees you in your gown on the day of the wedding. But don't forget to work your magic on him today either." Deirdre explained her friend very well, even winking in the process.
