"Of course, we didn't celebrate last night," Esmeralda said as she hung the lanterns on the branch.
"Why?"
"Oh come on Ray. We were tired shitless and so were the others. But you all jumped on top of us screaming and congratulating us for about half an hour." Andres said handing another lantern to Esmeralda.
"We had no time or energy to celebrate yesterday. So we're gonna celebrate today. And boy is it gonna be fun." Esme giggled excitedly.
"Um Esme. Is it done yet?" Phoenix asked tiredly, huffing slightly.
"Yeah. Done." she breathed, carefully getting down from Phoenix's shoulders as he exhaled sharply.
"God, you have heavy muscles. How much do you work out?" Phoenix asked, eyes filled with admiration.
"A lot, actually."
Esmeralda looked around, her eyes falling on Andres, who looked at her with cute puppy eyes, a pout on his lips, head slightly bowed down.
"What?" Esmeralda laughed as she stood in front of him, pulling him towards her by the strings of his hoodie.
"You could have sat on my shoulders, you know. I would held you more gently and with more care than Phoenix."
Esmeralda narrowed her eyes at him, "You have an injury in your foot don't you, dumbo?"
"So what?" Andres whined, earning a soft punch on his shoulder from her.
"Don't be so jealous Andres." She whispered in his ear before giving him a soft kiss on his lips that had him melting and wanting to become a puddle.
He had taken his role as her boyfriend very seriously.
Last night he had sneaked into her room to cuddle with her. He had kissed her over and over again; on her lips, her face, her neck, everywhere.
Even though they were tired shitless and they all had decided to skip school Andres had gone for the sole reason of terrorizing the small male population that had a crush on Esmeralda.
He even got jealous of a little boy whom Esmeralda had picked up and kissed on the cheek longer than she had kissed Andres' cheek. The kid even told her he was gonna marry her someday.
Andres had then proceeded to grab Esmeralda's face and kiss her hard for so long the kid ran away.
Needless to say, he was quite the protective type.
"So, this thing is gonna take quite some time. We have to make it perfect for them. This is a special day." Esmeralda looked around at the other items.
"I hope we get this done on time. I am gonna need some rest if I have to be at tonight's party till at least midnight. We all need rest." Andres played with the strings of his hoodie, occasionally admiring his girlfriend's pretty face.
"Yeah. Everyone, especially the Pearls are so excited for tonight." Esmeralda excitedly squealed.
"Speaking of Pearls, what are you guys gonna do now?" Brooke asked, hoping the Pearls don't part ways forever.
"I don't know. Maybe part ways. Get back to our normal lives, try to forget everything and just...............you know, not contact one another again, I suppose. Some people don't even belong to this town." Esmeralda tried to look nonchalant, although her voice cracked a bit.
She would miss them. No matter how much they tried to convince each other, the whole aspect of being Pearls, working together, fighting Leopold and the sci-fi stuff made the Dark Pearl a family.
