064- A PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES
ARCHSEV
"And what brings you children here in Othrys? Care to answer me, son of Athena?", I instantly held back my pride as I lowered my head infront of the titan Iapetus to pay respects before we moved a couple of steps away from him to establish recognition of his divine presence. Umayos ako sa pagkakatayo ko at hinarap siya.
If you're curious about our current location, well, after the 'not-so-surprising' new omen that the Moirai---the Fates told us, everyone in the academy including the goddess Eunomia decided to send our class to Mount Othrys; the previous pantheon during the reign of the titans that fell from the battle of the gods, in order consult with the titans themselves instead of our divine parents for help. Of course we all know that our parental deities just won't give a damn about us, unless we die of course... or still, maybe not.
"Forgive us for intruding upon your peace lord Iapetus, but we have some concerns in which we want to address to you.", pag-amin ko. He raised an eyebrow while giving me a discerning stare---I suppose trying to figure out if I was lying in his face or not, but eventually, he nodded at me.
"You have my full attention, semideus.", pagpayag nito pero hindi rin nakatakas sa paningin ko ang pagkakatitig niya sa mga simbolong nakatatak sa mga mata namin. Hula ko ay may alam din siya tungkol sa mga ito. But we'll get to that later.
The rest of the Class Primarius stood behind me silently, matiim lang na nakikinig sa pag-uusap namin ng kaharap ko ngayon, the titan god of mortality, Iapetus. Good thing he was approachable and reasonable enough for us to converse with.
"We've encountered the Fates yesterday as they suddenly appeared out of nowhere back at the academy. T-They sort of... delivered us a tale---a myth, rather.", dalawang-isip na saad ko sa kanya. I noticed how the titan's lips twitched in mere amusement for some reason kaya nagtaka ako... hanggang sa nagsalita siya.
"Let me guess, is it the Bane of Fourteen?", he questioned as if it was just another one of those typical subjects for him that it caught us off-guard. Napalingon kaagad ako sa Class Primarius na nasa likuran ko. Halatang nagulat din sila na alam ni titan Iapetus ang tungkol dito.
"How did you---", Kria was about to ask him a question nang maputol ang pagsasalita niya sa isa pang boses na nanggaling sa likuran ni titan Iapetus.
"It's certainly refreshing to see the rest of you here in our humble abode, my precious grandchildren. What seems to be troubling the rest of you---enough for you to journey all the way here in Othrys, that is?", the rest of us automatically bowed down once again before the intimidating presence of the former leader of the pantheon established before the Olympians succeeded into power. The youngest of the twelve original titans who ruled during the Golden Age of man.
"Lord Cronus.", we greeted. He smiled at us kaya medyo nabaguhan kami sa harap-harapang pakikitungo nito sa'min.
The myths really did them no justice. None of us semideuses expected the titans to act... well, like this. Were some of the myths written in balderdash after all?
Mas lalo pang nanliit ang aming presensya nang mapag-alaman naming nakasunod din pala kay titan Cronus si titaness Selene who stared at us with a scornful look, especially when her eyes crossed upon Rios and Prim who were both positioned with the others behind me. She glared at them.
"What are they even doing here?"
They titans were taller than the Olympians and the rest of the gods of the current pantheon so it's a given for us to be extremely intimidated by their presence regardless of how they acted.
