002- THE PRINCE OF OLYMPUS

AHLKRIA

"M-Mom...", I managed to speak as I stared at the goddess who stood infront of me.

She wore a knee-length, black and gold Greek dress and held golden torches on both of her hands. Two black wolves stood beside her too.

Her nightshade black hair hung with heavy curls on the edges as she wore a golden laurel wreath crown just like the other Greek goddesses. To my surprise, her eyes altered into the colors of silver and black depending on the reflection of the light.

"You've grown up, my child. You've come of age. I can see that Hestia has raised you well, Ahlkria.", her voice sounded eerie but for some unknown reason, it was consoling for me.

"Did Hestia ever tell you about who I am?", she asked. Umiling ako.

"I grew up b-believing that she was my... real mother.", mahina kong sambit. Nagulat ako nang bigla niya akong niyakap nang mahigpit.

"You look so much like your father.", she whispered at dahan-dahan na bumitaw sa pagkakayakap.

"M-My father. Who is he?", tanong ko pa, nagbabakasakali, pero nginitian niya lang ako.

"You'll know soon enough. For now... I am Hecate, the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts, necromancy, and crossroads. I am your mother.", she introduced. Natahimik ako.

"I thought the Olympians only have a few chosen attributes?", I asked as she laughed at me in amusement.

"Oh, but I am not one of them, my daughter. I precede the Olympians and belong to the third generation of the Titans.", my mother explained as I just kept my mouth shut. I can sense that she's pretty dangerous. Nagulat ako nang humalakhak siya bigla.

"Are you actually afraid of your own mother?", she accused me with a hint of amusement on her tone. Hindi ako nakasagot. Tumawa lang siya sa harapan ko until she suddenly stopped bago napatitig sa may parte ng leeg ko at sumeryoso.

"And I suppose he gave you this as a gift of engagement?", she asked out of nowhere.

Nagulat ako nang tiningnan niya ng maigi yung kwintas na suot-suot ko. I creased my eyebrows when I caught something.

"Gift... of engagement? What do you mean mom?"

"Ahlkria, I have no intention of agreeing to this since you're my only living daughter, but I'm afraid we cannot defy Zeus' orders given that he is entitled as king of the gods. The others follow him.", she suddenly told me as I saw a glint of concern in her eyes.

"Why, mom? What's wrong with this necklace? Kanino ba talaga to nanggaling?", sunod-sunod na tanong ko.

"The truth is that, you are actually promised to one of Zeus' sons... in marriage."

"M-Marriage?", hindi ko mapigilan ang pagkagulat ko sa sinabi niya.

"Are you serious?", I asked in astonishment. She nodded.
