May kutob ako na ang naglagay nung sea monster dun para bantayan yung golden box ay yung deity na tinutukoy ni Elpenor. And what's inside that box? Could it be the twelve treasures?
"That would be all the knowledge I can provide, young mistress. Farewell.", huling sambit ni Elpenor before his soul went back to the Underworld. Pagkatapos nun ay nabalot kaming dalawa ni Damen nang ilang sandaling katahimikan.
"Great. Mas lalo lang tayong pinahirapan. Now there's even a sea monster involved.", I sarcastically declared as I clenched my fists in annoyance.
If only I can use my attributes properly without losing control of myself, edi naging madali lang sana toh. But no, I'm too weak. The only thing I'm confident enough about using without losing control would be my divine weapon and the Eternal Flames of Quietus. And I can't even amplify the flames since we're underwater. Nawawalan na ako ng pag-asa.
"Damen, kaya pa?", lumingon ako kay Damen sabay biro sa kanya. He smiled.
"I should be the one asking you that, vice-captain. Mukhang mapapasabak tayo dito.", biro niya pabalik. Kabado naman kaming napatawa sabay baling ng tingin namin dun sa bukana ng argosy. He slowly manipulated the sphere to approach the large hole, leading inside the shipwreck. Napalunok ako.
"You can use other types of spells just in case, right Damen?", tanong ko. Nagtaka naman ako nang hindi niya ako sinagot dun. I was about to ask him again when the ship started to rumble, letting out a disturbing shock wave.
I immediately summoned my divine weapon as I readied my guard. Nasa loob na kami ngayon ng shipwreck. Everything's destroyed and there was a huge clearing inside. Nagpalingon-lingon ako sa paligid as I tried to activate the Orb of Apollo again to give us light.
Kaagad naman akong nagsisi sa ginawa ko dahil sa harapan namin, bumungad ang isang pares ng kulay berdeng mga mata, resembling a serpent's eyes. Its head is even bigger than Damen's water sphere kaya kaagad kaming iniwas ni Damen dito, especially when it tried to attack us using its massive tail. By the gods of Olympus, it's a giant sea serpent with huge jaws, razor-like teeth and armor-like scales. What the hell is this thing?
"Damen. Take us outside.", utos ko na kaagad namang sinunod ni Damen. Nang makalabas kami sa shipwreck ay halos matangay yung sphere sa sobrang lakas ng pwersa when the sea monster suddenly forced its way out of the shipwreck, causing more damage. And it's coming towards us.
I didn't even think straight when I amplified two arrows from my divine weapon made out of my flames and immediately shot it towards the sea monster's eyes. I was shocked to discover that when my flames made contact with water, it didn't even burn out and instead, diretso lang itong tumama sa mga mata nung sea monster, engulfing it into flames. Rinig namin ang malakas na hiyaw nung sea monster as it started coiling like a snake in water, trying to put out the flames that burned its eyes.
"It... worked.", I unconsiously blurted out because of astonishment. So the Flames of Quietus still work on water?
Patuloy parin sa paghiyaw yung halimaw while constantly coiling and writhing in pain when it was blinded by the flames. Nanlaki naman ang mata ko nang may mapagmasdan akong bagay na umiilaw sa may tiyan nito.
"That couldn't be...", I trailed off as I narrowed my eyes at the golden light. Could that be the box? Inside the creature's belly?
"Damen I think---", natigilan ako nang makita ko si Damen. Nakatulala ito habang nakatingin sa sea monster. His hands trembled as he pointed at it.
