"Is what true?"

"About my brother."

I stopped walking and turned around.

"Mike was talking about it that night. I was in and out, so I couldn't understand some of the things he was saying."

"Yeah," I said, sort of like a mumble. Dre was an asshole, but he was her brother. I'm sorry and not sorry for what we did to him that night.

I got to my car and unlocked it.

"Do you think they are going to come after me too, since my relationship with you?" I stopped and folded my arms, putting them on the hood.

I looked at her for a second. I opened my mouth to answer but stopped when we heard Maya's father calling her name. Well, he was yelling Cierra, but we knew what was happening.

She was looking in his direction, then looked back at me.

"Ask your dad." She frowned, confused. I got in my car.

"Oh, I almost forgot...here you go," I said after rolling down the window. I handed her the phone. She backed away from the car as I pulled out of the parking spot and headed home.

I drove home in silence, thinking about what my brother wanted to talk about and how it was going to deal with me.

Jahseh POV

Stokeley, Alexus, and I are watching TV at Y/n's house. Ski and I had talked last night about everything and decided we were going to have a family meeting to talk about everything that has happened.

I know Y/n is not going to fully open up about what she is going through and how she really feels about everything.

I want her to know that everyone is feeling what she's feeling and that she doesn't need to feel like she needs to be strong because she doesn't.

Stokeley isn't really into emotional stuff, but when it comes to family, he softens up a bit.

I wish mom were here, though. She always knows what to say and do when we start to shut down.

"I met wit uncle Tim."

"Really? Is he good?"

"Yeah, we were in the studio, and it just made me think."

"About?"

"How I feel like I'm overextending myself with my group, our group, having to deal wit most of my bookings and contracts and finances with my videos and studios, touring and life in general with and without the cameras."

"Bro, what you saying? You quitting or somethin?"

"I-

"Get your feet off my coffee table."

I jumped, not hearing her come in. Alexus was laying down on the couch, hugging a pillow on her phone. Y/n took the pillow out of her arms and laid behind her wrapping her arms around Alexus.

I saw a slight smirk on Alexus's face as she snuggled closer, but she acted like she wasn't paying any mind to Y/n.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" She said, looking at what Alexus was doing on her phone.

Stokeley turned off the TV.

"Are you okay?"

She rolled her eyes.

"And don't lie to us," I said

She looked me in my eyes, searching for a weakness in my words, but I was serious. She closed her eyes in defeat.

"What is the point." She said, avoiding answering.

"The point is, we are always open and honest with each other. We aren't the type of family to be closed off from each other. We are worried about you."

"Look, I get it. You joke around and stuff as a front. It was alright when you were younger, but now we're adults. We all know why you are never here, and when you are, you're disconnected. You've started to avoid us, and we don't do what we used to do as a family. It's affecting everyone. Ski doesn't show it, but I can feel the energy."

"You say you get it, but you don't. Do you know what it feels like to be milliseconds from death, not know how long you can hold on?" I sat there, not knowing what to say.

"N-" Stokeley tried to respond, but she continued.

"No, you don't. You don't get how my actions can cost the lives of everyone I love. You're not getting how every day I walk around with the vivid visions of that night and knowing I took another person's life whether it was deserved or not." Her fist was starting to ball up.

Alexus put her phone down. She sat up and wiped a tear falling from Y/n's eye.

"I lost control that night; I couldn't stop. It was this rage inside of me that I never felt before. All I could think about the whole time was I was no better than him."

"I hear you, sis, and we want you to tell us this so we can understand. We are here for you." Stokeley started. I sat there thinking about every word she just said.

"Why?" She said with a blank expression, tears still running down her face.

"Because that's what family does." I sat there thinking about what I felt and have yet to sort out about Mike.

"Right, because this family cares so much that they keep secrets about who is who's parent," I said, staring at nothing. I didn't want to talk to them about this because it was more of my mom and dad's problem to fix.

But I remember them saying they knew something about it but never thought to tell me.

It was quiet for a while until I heard Y/n's voice.
