_________The next day I told this to Jennie's mother and she took off for two days and came here.
Since she had come here she has not left Jennie's room and not letting anyone come in, it has been 5 hours.I asked her to have food but she denied it.
When I told her about the treatment she agreed silently and then within few hours she came here.I again went towards the door collecting my strength and knocked on the door. I nervously stood outside the door but no one answered. I again banged the door but no answer.
I started to panic now. I hit the door with my full force in order to break it.
And after two-three hits the door finally opened and what I saw there left me terrified, Emily sitting beside Jennie and holding a knife near her wrist. Just as I entered her bloodshot eyes looked at me pleading, to not stop her from whatever she was doing but my conscience told me to take that knife away from her as fast as possible. She stared back and forth me and Jennie and said in a distressed tone, "I can't live without my daughter. She was the only reason for my existence. I thought she would get better soon but now there are no chances of her betterment. I want to end this life now. I can't bear the departure of my daughter. I want to die before her."
More tears fell from her eyes and she lowered her head in grief.I took advantage of the moment and quickly snatched the knife from her and threw it towards the door.
She was taken aback by my actions and yelled through her cries, "Why don't you let me die? You want to me see the dead body of my daughter getting buried in front of me."
Her voice cracked at the last sentence and she cried pathetically. At that moment I saw that strong lady getting shattered by the stones that destiny threw at her. She tried so hard to stay firm for her daughter but now she couldn't hold it more. The rope by which she held her emotions together, seems to weaken now.
Seeing this strong tree aiming to fall down because it couldn't handle the hardship of the storm, then how could a small tree like me hold itself together. The gloomy tears rolled down my eyes by seeing her in such a depressing state. She rested her forehead on Jennie's body and shed whatever she was hiding inside her heart.
I was just standing there not knowing what to do now.
I can't give her false hope that Jennie will get better but I can't let her die either. After a while, she looked at me and said, "Why does God always do this to me? First, the person I loved left me when I got pregnant with Jennie, then my family abundant me. But at least at that time, I had a hope to live that was my daughter but now she is also leaving me. What is the reason to live now?"
I couldn't see this anymore, I sat beside her and said, "Don't say this Emily. Jennie will surely get better after this treatment. Don't lose hope."
She was not a bit convinced by my words, "Don't say something which you can't believe. You told me that doctor said that there are only 30% chances of her survival."
I answered, "But we can pray for her. We can stay positive. She will get better. Just believe in God. "
She didn't say anything. She kept looking at her daughter's unconscious body and was immensely terrified that soon she will be looking at her dead body.
I asked, "Shall I bring food for you? You haven't eaten anything since you came here."
She didn't reply.
