Acacia Mcknight

I could feel goosebumps rise on my skin as I reread the text.

Who could it be? How do they know me or Damien? And most importantly, why do they want me to leave him?

Don't stress it, babes, they are just jelly because hottie is hot.

With all of the questions on my head, I walked out of the bedroom.

I'll tell Damien later, not now.

"I was too long, wasn't I?" I chuckled nervously as I approached Tristan.

I think he's sleeping? Were you that long?

Tristan opened his eyes and sat straight on the couch, "Of course not, I understand his feelings, you are one gorgeous woman"

Oh. My. Freaking. God! Hottie- oops, we are married. Sorry!

I just laughed, shaking my head as I plated the breakfast on the table.

"Acacia, will you be going to the hospital today?" I heard Damien's voice come from behind me.

I turned around and he was buttoning his cufflinks up. Damien fastened his watch and slid the wedding ring on his finger before he looked at me. Sorry, at Tristan, who was behind me.

"You are here again?" Damien asked, a scowl on his face.

I awkwardly sat on the chair as Tristan and Damien cursed each other out.

Oh, such unholy words in the morning.

"You fucking asshole-" Damien muttered under his breath and sat opposite Tristan.

"Damien, say that again, I'll rip your tiny little-"

Damien's eyes hardened as he licked his lips.

That's it!

"Stop! Can't you both have breakfast without quarrelling!? Are you kids?" I exclaimed, tapping the table with my hands.

Suddenly, both of their heads snapped in my direction and I lost all the courage I had.

I lowered my hand and stuffed food in my mouth.

Thankfully, they both stayed silent yet I noticed how they smirked from time to time.

They sure are best friends..

"Acacia, how old are you?" Tristan asked and Damien choked on his coffee.

I gave Damien a side glance as I stared absently at Tristan, "Excuse me?"

Offended.

Who asks a lady that!? Even Damien never asked my age, heck, he doesn't even know my birthday! He never bothered!

Tristan shrugged and said, "Well, you're young, so how old are you? 19? 20?"

From which angle do I look 19?

Damien just rolled his eyes and ate from his plate, "Who asks a woman her age? Tristan, this is exactly why you can't date for longer than 2 days"

Tristan frowned instantly and kicked Damien's shin from under the table, "Ah fuck!"

And then I said, "I'm 21, Tristan. Why?"

Tristan smirked, "When's your birthday?"

Damien looked up, curiously.

"Ah, it's the 15th of May"

Tristan nodded, "So it's soon"

I shook my head, "It's in 3 months"

I and Damien will get divorced on the 27th of June.

It's sad.

"You are 2 years younger than both me and Damien, so you're the baby here, sweetie"

I pouted and looked at Damien. He was just smiling at me.

His smile is so beautiful.

"Acacia, I do hope you're not working today?" Damien asked and I shook my head.

Why though?

"No, I am free, why?"

Tristan was far too busy finishing the breakfast so he couldn't care less about our convo.

"I have a business party at the firm, this evening. You'd be my escort, that's why" He said, clasping his hands as I smiled.

I love parties! Not the club ones, you know, the formal ones? They are always so much fun!

You're crazy.

"Oh my gosh! I love parties!" I swirled and clapped my hands and my sudden movement startled Tristan as the glass from his hand fell from his hand and onto the floor, into several tiny pieces.

"Serves you right" Damien chuckled, standing up and dusting off his lap.

I gritted my teeth nervously and awkwardly as Tristan glared at me and Damien, "Watcha looking at? Come, we'll get late"

Damien said and walked to the entrance as Tristan cursed and I followed them both.

I hope they don't kill each other!

They won't, they are BFFs!

"See you tonight, Mrs Mcknight" Tristan said as I giggled, nodding as he shook my hand, trying to be formal.

He's a funny dude, me likey.

Damien chuckled and kissed the side of my head, "Bye, beautiful"

I smiled, looking down. I felt heat creep up my neck and cheeks.

It's so hard not to fall in love with him!

"See you tonight, Damien"

Sometimes his gestures and words give me an illusion that he loves me..

In the back of my head, I want him to stop this contract.

But I know, he doesn't love me and will never cancel the contract.

Damien has shown me how decency and respect can be so attractive.. His words and compliments just make my heart flutter.

Yup, and that's why we love him.

My main concern for now though is. That text. How do I tell Damien?

Maybe when he'll arrive home to pick me up. But that would ruin the party mood. I'll tell him when we are about to sleep, perfect!

Chef's kiss!

I carefully tucked strands of my hair back into a delicate twist before I looked in the mirror.

You look great babes, Damien will be shooketh.

It took me about an hour and a half to get ready and Damien will be here any moment now.

I am so nervous! I know I said I loved parties but I never attended one! I'm a freaking dentist, I'm not invited to such posh things.

Babes, chillax. Damien will be with you all the time! Or just stick to him like glue? Okay?

This dress, however, was far too revealing. I didn't choose it, it was kept in a box in the room so I assumed Damien left it for me.
