Today's my dad's birthday. Sa bahay namin gagawin ang simple party, a house where I lived for 20 years. Lumipat lang ako ng sarili ko when I graduated and took over the presidency of some of our companies.
I'm on my way now to pick her up. I hope everything goes well. I don't want her to have a bad time at the house.
Sasa may grew up with no family around, I'm pretty sure mine will make her feel belong. Mamahalin sya ng pamilya ko. This will be the first time I'll introduce someone formally. Biruin mo sa edad kong early 30s, ni hindi ko pa nagagawa ang may ipakilala sa kanila ng seryosohan. This will be the very first.
The guard let my car in and naabutan ko na si Sasa waiting at the doorstep.
"Hi hon, Let's go?" She looks so beautiful. Her simpleness just adds more charm to her personality.
"Che. Bolero. I'm nervous. Yung gift ko pala sa dad mo, ilalagay na lang ni Mang June sa likod ng car mo."
"Nag-abala ka pa. Okay hon." Hinawakan ko sya sa kamay at isinakay sa kotse. I cannot take my eyes off her. She's so beautiful.
As I started the engine, nahalata ko ang uneasiness sa kanya. Mahawakan nga ulit ang kamay niya even if I'm driving. I want her to feel my warmth, to feel that as long she's with me, everything's gonna be okay.
"Loosen up hon. You're too gorgeous not to feel comfortable."
"Sorry hon. But thanks. Sige I'll try. I'll relax myself. You too, you look good tonight." Compliments always sound nicer when it comes from the people we love.
Ilang minutes pa at nakarating na kami sa Ayala heights. Medyo hindi na rin halata na kabado si Sasa. Paano ba naman hiniritan ko ulit sya ng corny punch lines ko, napatawa ko na ulit sya. It helped her a lot to relax and be back to her old self.
"Shall we?"
"Sure."

It's surprising how relaxing I feel now. Jiro's humor helped a lot. Didn't expect his family would be so accommodating.
Napakalaki ng bahay nila, apat na magkakapatid sila Jiro and most of them have their own family. Napakabait ng mga kapatid niya sa akin kahit ang mga asawa nila. I feel at ease.
Magkakasalo kami ngayon sa isang lamesa and everyone's sharing stories and laughter.
