He grabbed my arm and pulled me farther away from the party. The minute we stopped, I hastily yanked my arm away.
"Beth, I'm so sorry. I had no idea Layla was going to do this!" Isaac apologized.
"You're sorry? Look around, Issac! Do you have any idea what's going on? I have no idea how I'm going to stop this," I yelled at him as I felt tears forming. I was completely freaking out. If Noah found out, he would never trust me again. This was all Isaac's fault. This whole thing never would have happended if it wasn't for him. I immediately rubbed my eyes to get rid of the tears.
"You want me to call the cops?" He suggested. I thought about it for a second and realized that it wouldn't have been a good idea.
"No, they'll report it to Noah when he gets back. He can't ever know about this," I replied.
He tried to take my hand but I immediately backed away.
"I'll figure something out. Don't worry, I'll even stay and help you clean this up when it's over." He told me.
"You say that like you're doing me some kind of favor. I don't need your help, Isaac. I just need you to leave me alone!" I yelled at him and ran back into the house. I didn't feel like dealing with him, I already had too much on my plate.
I couldn't find Eve anywhere and after an hour and a half of trying to get rid of people, I gave up. I ran to my room where I found a couple making out on my floor. I didn't even bother to see If I knew them or not. I recoiled and pretended to gag instead. They clearly didn't see me because they started to get even more... intimate.
Before things got too far, I yelled, "Get out!" They immediately looked at me in surprise for a second and then ran out. I closed the door and flopped onto my bed. I am so screwed, was the only thing thing I could think over and over again. All I could do was stare at the ceiling while my house was being torn apart.
Someone knocked on my door and I felt a surge of anger. I was about to tell them to stay the hell out when I looked up to see Chase come in. He walked over and sat beside me on my bed. I felt slightly uncomfortable by how close he was, but I didn't want to be rude by scooting away.
"I'm so sorry about Layla. I had no idea-"
"Yeah, I know. I don't blame you." I interrupted him.
"I'm sorry about you guys breaking up, by the way," I told him, trying to break the awkward silence.
He chuckled at me and replied," Wow."
I turned to face him. "What?"
"You're house has been turned into a jungle and you're sitting here apologizing about my breakup with a girl I barely know." He said. "You're definitely something, Beth." I wasn't sure what I was supposed to say that. I wasn't even entirely sure if what he said was a compliment or not. So I just shrugged my shoulders in response.
"Its okay, though. I didn't really like her." He admitted with a shy smile. I couldn't help but smile back.
"So then why did you date her?" I inquired.
He was quiet for a couple minutes and I thought he wasn't going to answer when he said,"I honestly don't know," I wasn't content with his answer but I decided to let it go.
After a couple moments of silence he said, "Okay, now it's my turn."
"What?"
"You asked me a question, now I ask mine."
I laughed and decided, why not? I clearly couldn't stop the party, so there was no point in wasting my time. I just needed something to take my mind off what was really happening outside my door.
