I woke up to a tremendous amount of light streaming into my room. I squinted as my head started to pound.

"Good morning sunshine! We need to talk!" He yelled purposely.

"Stop it! You're making my brain hurt!" I complained. I tried to put my blanket over my head but Noah immediately ripped it off me.

"I'm glad it does! You need to learn a lesson!" He continued.

"I know and I'm really sorry."

"I specifically told you not to get drunk. And that's exactly what you did Beth! It's not like I didn't expect you to drink, I just trusted you to know your limits." Noah lectured me.

"You were lucky enough to have that guy to drop you home. But then of course I had to give him a ride home because then he didn't have a ride."

"Wait, what about his car?"

"He told me that he grabbed a ride to the party with one of his friends." Noah informed me.

"But that's not the point Bethany. How do you expect me to trust you anymore?"

"I said I'm sorry but I think your making a bigger deal out of this then it actually is. I made one mistake and isn't that expected?" I defended myself.

"No, it's not. Not from you at least. I expect you to listen to me. You aren't going anywhere besides school related activities for the next two weeks," Noah said angrily. I suddenly felt a surge of anger come over me.

"That isn't fair Noah! As if you never got drunk in high school or college? You're only mad because you think I'm going to end up like mom!" I yelled as loud as possible and ran out of the room. I didn't run out because I was angry. It was because I had to puke. My legs felt heavy but I ran to the bathroom as fast as my feet could carry me.

After I was done emptying last night's contents from my stomach, I walked to the kitchen. Noah was standing against the kitchen counter with a glass of some kind of green concoction.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be that harsh on you. But please don't ever say that about mom again. She got her life together and took care of us. Which was more then Dad ever did." I looked at the glass fearfully and said,"I know I'm sorry. But is that supposed to be my apology gift?"

He looked at the glass and then back at me. "Actually, it is. It's something I would drink in college to help me get over my hangover."

"What's in it?"

He paused for a second and then said, "Just drink it." I took the glass slowly and then gulped it down. It tasted like rotten eggs mixed with ketchup. I instantly poured a cup of water and drank it to get rid of the aftertaste. Although, my head ache started to get better.

"Any chance I can get some more?"

*****

"You can't come over?" Eve asked sadly.

"Sorry, I'm on house arrest because of last night. He was going to ground me for two weeks but now he reduced it to a week."

"But who's going to help me with my hangover and hold my hair back when I'm throwing up?"

"Gross, but I'm feeling a lot better because of this drink Noah made me. I can get him to tell you the recipe sometime. Again, I'm sorry but what about Kat, what's she doing?"

"Same as you. House arrest. I got out of punishment cause my parents were at some work party. They came home just as drunk as me."

"Wow, I wish my brother had a life so he would stop hovering over me all the time." I confessed.

"At least you have a sibling. I would kill for my own brother or sister."

"Yeah, they have their ups and downs." We eventually said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone.

"With your partner you are going to create a project that demonstrates how World War 1 affected the United States. Research is something you have partners have to do, there will be no help from me. You're project choices are either a display, an essay, or a website," Mrs. Clancy said as she handed the rubric out. The bell rang and I grabbed my stuff. I saw Isaac waiting for me at the door frame staring at the floor so I told Kat to go on without me.

"When can you hangout today?" Isaac asked.

"Wait what?"

"For the project? Are you free to work on it today?"

"Oh right! The project, duh Bethany," I said and blushed slightly. For a second I thought he was talking about hanging out for another reason. What a stupid thought? We walked to our lockers together deciding what day would be best.

"What about Wednesday?"

"Nope, I have volleyball," I answered.

"Wow, you're pretty booked. What days are you not doing anything?"

"Um, Friday and then weekends."

"Friday?" He asked hopefully.

"Sure."

"Great!" He said as he started to walk away. That's when I remembered I did have something to this Friday.

"Wait!" I called as I caught up to him.

"I'm grounded this Friday. Which reminds me, thanks for dropping me home," I told him while I smiled at what little I remembered of that night.

"No problem. I had a good time, so what about Sunday?" He asked. He looked distracted and distant. He wasn't his usual self.

"Yeah, Sunday works."

"Cool," he said and started to walk to his car.

I was compelled to ask, "Is there something wrong?"

"I know you're just concerned about me or something. But I'm not on the mood for talking, okay?" He said and then got in his car and drove.

"Don't be a whore, Eve's friend. Leave my boyfriend alone," Julia said rudely when she came up to me.

"Ex, boyfriend," I spit back and walked to the gym.

Wow guys I'm sorry. Now I know for sure I won't be able to publish for a while. But again I will try my hardest to publish it soon. Hope you liked it. Also I do that this chapter is a little shorter then the others. Comment and vote! Thanks for reading! Until next chapter.... Byeeee.
