I apologize for my chapter titles and also my future ones. I know, they suck. I'm lazy. But I hope you like this chapter.
"Winter break!" Kat exclaimed as we drove to school
"Ugh, I'm so excited. My family's going to Aruba. Sun, sand and relaxation!"
"I know right! I'm going to London to visit family," Kat said.
"What about you, Beth?" Eve asked.
"I'm just gonna hang out with my brother at home." I told them shyly.
"Oh, cool! But you know what I'm even more excited for?" Kat asked enthusiastically.
"Getting to be you're own person instead of always being with Shaun?" i joked.
"Noooo. I think I'm even more excited for the Winter Formal!" Kat exclaimed. Wait, What?
"Yeah, that's because you actually have a date," Eve told her.
"Well not all of us to can be as fortunate to find the most perfect guy ever!"
"Aww, that's so sweet," Eve replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she pretended to gag.
"Wait, the Winter formal is tonight?" Almost instantly, they wrenched they're heads towards me.
"You're joking right?" Kat asked in shock.
"I asked you if you already had a dress because Eve and I were going shopping for ours and you said yes, remember?" I had no idea what she was talking about.
"I guess I wasn't really paying attention?" I admitted.
"Bethany Grace Abbott! Tell me you're joking!" Kat yelled at me.
"I'm sorry, Kat. I honestly forgot about the whole thing."
"It's okay, we can get her a last minute dress," Eve said, trying to calm her down.
"Yeah, I don't know if I really wanna go to this thing"
"No! Don't you dare!" Kat warned me.
I put my hands up in surrender. " Fine, I'll go!"
We got out of he car, and Kat and I struggled to carry our boards to Mrs. Clancy's room. We dropped them off and headed to our homerooms. I entered the room to see none other then Isaac. His legs were crossed on top of his desk and he was staring at me with his smug smile.
"Isaac Atkins, early? There must be something wrong with my eyes!" I teased.
"Yeah, well that's only because I need to talk to you," he said as his expression turned serious.
"If this about what happened on Friday, then just forget it. It's over."
He got up and walked over to me.
"Beth, you know I didn't mean to-"
"Yeah, I know you didn't. But the fact is, you did." I started. "It doesn't even matter anymore. The project is over, so we don't ever have to speak to each other again."
"Are you seriously doing this because of Julia"
I scoffed at question. Even though he was partially right. "So let me get this straight, you think that the only way a girl wouldn't want to be your friend is if she's being threatened?"
"I mean even then I would find it hard to believe but yeah, pretty much." he said. I couldn't tell if he was being serious or just sarcastic.
Even though I wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or not, I still couldn't help but get mad at him. He was so full of himself. I couldn't believe how some girls couldn't get past his looks to see what an asshole he really was. Words could in no way possibly express how angry I was. So I just rolled my eyes and took a seat when Mrs. Johnson entered the room.
