This song is called Oh No! by Marina and The Diamonds."You want to go on a date?"
"It's not a date Noah, we have to work on a project together."
"Same difference," He replied.
"I guess you can, but one condition." Noah warned.
"You work on it here, and only when I'm home."
"Yeah, sure," I replied.
"Just wondering though, who's the guy?" Noah asked curiously.
I rolled my eyes and then answered,"Isaac Atkins."
"Oh, the guy that dropped your drunk ass back home!" Noah teased.
"I get it okay. I promise to never get drunk again," I said as I pretended to salute.
"A word of advice, Beth?" He started.
"Don't make promises you can't keep."

I guessed I probably should've changed out of my pajamas since I had a 'guest' coming over. I walked over to my closet and examined my clothes. Sweatpants and a t-shirt? No, I should be fancier. Jeans and a t-shirt! That's better. I tied my hair in a high ponytail and ran to the door when the bell rang.
Before I could reach it, Noah opened the door.
"Hello again. Nice to meet you. My name's Noah, I'm Beth's brother. Just to be clear. You even touch her, and your dead," Noah told him seriously.
"Yes sir," Isaac replied slowly.
"Good, now you can come in," Noah said and then opened the door wider.
Isaac stepped in with his backpack slung over his shoulder. I glared at Noah for a second and then I turned to him.
"Hey, we can work on the project in my room." I walked over to my room with him behind me.
"Have fun!" Noah called. I ignored him and grabbed my books and laptop out of my bag. He did the same and then looked at me expectantly.
"Um, okay, so I was thinking a display would be best to show our research," I suggested.
"Sure. For now let's just do some research," He replied.
I nodded and grabbed my laptop. I looked up and he was looking through his books. I found it a little strange considering his laptop was right next to him. But I stayed quiet anyways.
After a couple minutes of awkward silence he asked," Is that your mom?"
I followed his gaze to where a picture of my mom was sitting on my table. She was laughing, sitting in her wedding gown with her dark brown hair put up in an elegant bun and her head tilted slightly. After she had died, I had found her picture from the wedding shoot and placed it in a picture frame.
I smiled and answered," Yeah, it is."
"Is she here or at work?" My stomach dropped at his question. I quickly turned back to my screen. How do I tell him without him looking at me like a lost puppy. I'd already had enough fake apologies at her funeral.
"Uh... She's...well...she's gone." I looked up and saw that his facial expression hadn't changed at all. I wasn't sure whether to be happy or offended.
" I didn't mean to pry, I just wanted to end the silence." He finally said.
"It's fine." I have to admit I was slightly annoyed when he didn't say something like "I'm sorry for you loss." But then again, that's what I wanted, right?
