I can honestly say it was the best Christmas I'd had. For the next few days we just relaxed and spent time with Reece's family which was really nice. Lynsey kept asking me how I was and I still hadn't told Reece what happened, I wanted to put it off for as long as I could.
It was now the 31st December and me, Reece, Lynsey and Lexi were going back to the house with all the boys for new year. Jamie had work so he couldn't come but the other boys close family were coming too. We were getting the train at 1 o'clock but we would still be back before all the boys and their families.
Once we got back we took out stuff upstairs. We had decided that Reece, Lynsey and Lexi we're going to stay in our room and I would sleep downstairs on the sofa. Charlie was also sleeping downstairs because he gave his room to his parents. Tom's family couldn't come so he was sharing a room with Barclay, Conner and Taylor (Barcs brother and sister) while Barclays parents were in his room. James had give his room to his mum and was also sleeping downstairs. Casey was sharing his room with his dad and brother, Chet, since his mum and sister couldn't come. Chris was sharing with his mum who was coming over and Jake was sharing with his mum and little sister, Sydney.
While Reece and Lynsey were sorting out mattresses and airbeds for people to sleep on I decided to go and visit my mum in hospital. I got the bus there to find that she was still in the same room she had been the last time I went. She was still in a coma. I went in and sat down next to her, biting my lip hard to stop myself from crying. A few minutes later a nurse walked in and sat down beside me.
"I'm sorry, I know this must be hard for you" she said kindly. I nodded, taking hold of my mums hand. "If you need any support or have any questions I'm here to help" she said. I closed my eyes, a few tears trickling down my cheeks.
"Do you- do you know how long she has left?" I asked, nervous to hear the answer. The nurse sighed.
"It has become very unlikely that your mother will wake up and her condition is quite unstable. We can't give an exact answer, I'm sorry" she said putting her hand on my shoulder. I nodded and stood up.
"Thank you, I have to go. I'll come again tomorrow" I said before walking out of the room. I couldn't stand to be in there, not with my mum like that.
I got back to the house and James, Chris and both of their mums had arrived. When I walked in both lads came up and gave me a big hug and I greeted both Trish and Paula, since I hadn't met either of them before, or any of the other boys families for that matter. I noticed a pile of presents under the tree we had put up a while ago, some from me and Reece and some from the other two I'm guessing.
"We're gonna wait until everyone else gets here and then we will open the rest of the presents" Chris said.
"We want a word with you as well" James said. I looked confused so he explained. "Reece told us that you haven't been yourself since before Christmas, we want to know what's happened since you won't tell anyone." I shot a look at Reece and then looked over at Lynsey who gave me a reassuring nod and smile, indicating that I should tell them what happened. I just didn't know how to tell them.
We waited for the rest of the lads and their families, the last to arrive was Tom at about 8 o'clock. We had decided that we were going to have a little New Year party so all the families left the living room to set some things up, which left me and the boys. We began opening all of our presents one by one.
I had only got the boys a few bits and bobs because I didn't know what to get them. Mainly it was some Lynx or a top or something along those lines. They made me open my presents last. Barclay had got me a Jack Wills hoodie, Casey got me a Soap and Glory body set, Charlie got me a massive box full of sweets and chocolate, Chris got me a pair of pink diamanté earrings, Jake had got me an iTunes voucher, James got me Coco Chanel perfume and Tom had got me a necklace with a bracelet to match. This left one envelope under the tree with my name written on it. Reece picked it up and checked inside it.
"This is the one last present, your main present from all of us" he said, smiling a little. "But you're not having it until you tell us what's been up." All of the boys turned to look at me and I stared down at the floor. How the hell was I supposed to tell them what had happened without them somehow judging me for it.
"Alice, you can tell us you know that" Jake said, putting his arm around me. I shook my head and stood up, walking out of the room and into the kitchen where everyone else was.
"Lynsey can I talk to you?" I asked. She nodded and came out into the hallway, moving to the far side so nobody would be able to hear.
"I can't tell them, I just can't do it. They're going to think so bad of me for it and I just don't know how to say it" I said, my voice shaking.
"It's okay. I'll tell Reece now if you want me to and then he can tell the others when you want" she said, hugging me. I nodded and she walked into the living room with me. She beckoned Reece out and they stood just next to the door. I knew that the boys would be able to hear everything that she said if they stood there but I couldn't really ask her to move further from the door.
"Right, when you hear this you'll understand why it was hard for her to tell you and why she didn't entirely want to" she said. My heart was pounding as I sunk onto the couch. All of the boys were still sat on the floor from opening presents.
"Reece she got raped" Lynsey said and I felt every head in the room turn towards me.
