I got back from shopping with Toni at about half past 4 which gave me 2 hours to have a shower and get ready. The whole situation was still confusing me, I wanted to know where we were going and why the boys had done this for me and Reece.

The boys returned soon after and Reece went into another room to get changed without saying a word to me. I don't know what the hell was up with him but I guess he'd have to talk to me soon enough.

I showered and dried my hair and used my straighteners to create beach waves (if you have never tried it it is a gift from the gods I swear, ask in the comments if you want to know more bc it's soooo helpful and quick) and then started with my make up.

It was quite hard not knowing where we were going because I didn't know how to do my make up or how to dress. Toni had given me an idea for the outfit that we ended up choosing after hours of deciding and I'd figured that it was most likely somewhere posh, like for a meal or something.

I settled on not a lot of make up so that it looked natural but enough to suggest that I was going out somewhere fancy. I applied my foundation, concealer and powder and decided to go for a smoky eye look so I did winged eyeliner and then applied eyeshadow. I finished it off with a pinky/red lipstick and added a bit of blusher to my cheeks.

I then got changed into my outfit. I'd picked out a deep purple skater dress with white, floral netting over the upper body. I had also bought a coat that was the exact same colour since it was still January and I would freeze in a tiny dress. I had a small black clutch bag and a pair of black heels already which I used, putting my make up, purse, phone and portable charger in the bag.

By now I was ready and I still had 15 minutes until the taxi was arriving to pick us up. I went downstairs and walked into the living room, where the boys always were. Reece was also ready and was sat next to James on one of the couches. I saw both of them smile discreetly as I walked in, James looking down at his knees to hide it. All of the boys families were still out but I think that they were on their way back now.

I went over and sat in between them. I felt Reece's eyes on me and looked at him to see him quickly move his head to look down at his knees, almost like he was nervous to make eye contact with me.

"You look stunning" James whispered in my ear, placing one hand on my back.

"Thanks" I replied quietly, smiling slightly and then shrugging off his hand. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Reece look up and shoot a dirty look at James. There seriously was something wrong, he would never usually do that if one of the boys complimented me. The other boys stopped talking and turned to me and Reece.

"So I'm guessing you's are both wondering what this is all about yeah?" Tom said smiling. I nodded and so did Reece.

"Basically we all thought that you needed a bit of time just for you two. It's not much but we've booked a table at that posh Italian restaurant in town so you can sit down together and get away from things for a couple of hours. We know that you are both a bit stressed at the minute with everything going on and we don't want to see it take a toll on your relationship." Tom said. I smiled at him, it was really nice of the boys to do this.

"And we know that in the next few days it's going to be one year since Lewis died which is going to be hard on both of you since he was your cousin Reece and your best mate Alice." At this point I felt Reece's hand slip under mine, which was on my lap, and interlock our fingers. I looked at him, biting my lip and squeezing his hand. It would be a year in two days, a day I had been dreading. I didn't know how hard it would hit me or Reece and I was worried about how we would both react.

"So for one night just try and forget about things. Alice, forget about what happened last week, forget about going back to college, about your mum or any of your family. Just for a few hours stop worrying about things and take the pressure off yourself. Reece, if Alice isn't worrying there's no need for you to either so you just forget things for tonight as well. No talking about it or anything. Just have a good meal together okay." Tom finished. I looked round at the other boys who were all smiling. All except James, who was staring at the floor.
