"my mom is asleep, and she's gone to work early in the morning, so dont worry about her seeing you" he reassuringly smiled, before handing a pair of shorts and a large shirt to the girl.

"mkay" she nodded, sighing out. "the bathrooms right there" he smiled, pointing to the door across from his room covered in horror movie memorabilia, band posters, and guitars.

alannah thanked him one more time before entering the bathroom. her eyes immediately clouded with tears again as she noticed the vibrant slap mark on her left cheek.

she touched it slightly but pulled back as she hissed in pain. david had never left a mark in an uncovered and open space. usually it was either on her stomach, back, or thighs.

shaking it off, she slipped on the warm and baggy clothes kirk had handed her. she took a few deep breaths before opening the door and re entering kirk's room.

he sat on his bed, nose deep in a comic book. "oh hey!" he smiled, noticing alannah standing there. "come here for a sec" he waved, standing up.

she followed him in to the bathroom and he shut the door behind them. alannah's breath got heavier and heavier as a tear dropped from her eye.

"oh gosh, am i making you uncomfortable?" he questioned, quickly panicking. "im sorry, i just..." "you dont need to explain, but is this fine?" he questioned, pointing to the door.

alannah was starting to trust kirk, so she slightly nodded and relaxed a little. "have a seat if you'd like" he smiled and alannah nodded, sitting on the edge of the bathtub.

kirk opened the drawers and started looking around for something. alannah just sat there, still feeling a little nervous being in a small closed room with the boy she just met.

"here it is" he spoke, holding up a tube of polysporin. the girl cringed a little as she knew exactly what it was for. "is it okay if i apply it? if not you can do it your-" "its okay" she smiled slightly, reassuring him.

he seemed almost as nervous as she was, but she just shook it off. he was only trying to help...right?

he kneeled down in front of alannah and brought his hand up to her cheek. the cream hit her cheek and she cringed as it stung pretty bad. "im really sorry!" he apologized, stopping for a minute.

"its okay, keep going" alannah nodded, resting into her body. in no time, he was backing up and smiling down at the girl. "done" he nodded, helping her stand up.

"thank you, i really owe you" she giggled a little. "no, no" he shook his head, placing the tube back in the drawer. "i'll show you to the guest room" he smiled, opening the door and leading her one door down from kirk's room.

"here it is...uh if you need anything just wake me up" he smiled, turning on the lamp for her. "thank you, i really appreciate it." "of course, have a good sleep" he waved before exiting the room and closing the door behind him.

alannah had been tossing and turning all night, so she didn't end up getting very much sleep. maybe an hour or two. but she was pleasantly awaken by kirk.

"morning" he spoke, making the girls eyes flutter open. kirk was holding a tray of breakfast, which made alannah smile a little - internally.

"morning" she yawned, sitting up on the bed. "i thought i'd be nice and serve you" he laughed, setting the tray in front of her before sitting at the end of the bed.

"did you eat yet?" she questioned, picking up the cold metal fork. "yep" he nodded, smiling at her. "yknow, you have a very infectious smile" alannah laughed, cutting the waffles into smaller squares.

"really?" he questioned, making her nod. "i've never gotten that compliment before" he shrugged. he was about to speak again before the doorbell rang. "who's that?" she questioned, immediately getting a little nervous.

"oh it's my bandmate, lars" he spoke, excusing himself. great...she hoped this random "lars" wouldnt be here for very long, cause she wasnt in the mood for any human contact other than kirk.

"there's a chick here?" a voice spoke, which alannah could barely hear, but she was able to hear that comment. suddenly loud footsteps climbed the stairs, and soon enough she was face to face with a brunette.

"hi?" alannah questioned, noticing kirk behind the guy. "hey, im lars" he smirked, leaning on the doorframe. "uh, okay....um i should get home" she spoke, ripping the covers away from her body.

lars and kirk allowed her to leave the room, so she smiled to kirk before heading to the bathroom with her dry clothes. she heard lars make a comment about the mark on her face, which made her frown a little.

in no time, she was changed and walking out of the bathroom. lars was still there, much to her dismay. "thank you for letting me stay here, i really appreciate it" she smiled, fumbling with her fingers.

"no problem! oh let me give you my number - just incase" he blushed, pulling out a pencil and piece of paper from his backpack. he scribbled down the number and handed it to the girl. "i'll walk you to the door."

lars had stayed upstairs, which made alannah much happier. "you know your way home?" kirk confirmed, to which she nodded. "bye" alannah smiled, waving as she walked down the sidewalk towards home.

when alannah had arrived at home, she already felt that she missed kirk. the front door opened and her moms eyes immediately softened. "where were you? david came by last night asking if i knew where you were?" mom questioned.

"im done with david" alannah shrugged, pushing past her mom. "what did he do?" "i dont wanna talk about it" she shrugged, heading upstairs to her safe place, her room.

as soon as alannah got to her room, she quickly shut the door and climbed into her warm bed. she looked over at the time, and unfortuantely, it was only 1pm. that meant she still had a whole day ahead of her.....and then school tomorrow.

"knock, knock" mom spoke, slowly creaking open the door. "hon? what happened to your face?" she questioned, sitting at the end of alannah's bed.

"mom, can i switch schools?"
