Mio kept her eyes on Zero, trying to kill him with her glare. She was forced to sit between Kaname and Yuki, having everyone's attention on her. Huffing quietly, she pulled her eyes from Zero and glared at other vampires who were staring at her in distaste or envy.
They could happily have her position if they wanted it!
Kaname placed his hand on Mio's chin to turn her head towards him. Mio leaned back, giving him a confused and uncomfortable expression. His touch was unnecessary.
"Why didn't you report this to Headmaster Cross? You're such a foolish girl, once again roaming around town and leaving yourself open to any attack. Now you came here, to a vampire party," Kaname questioned, his tone being of parents reprimanding their child.
Is he speaking to me as if I were a child? Mio thought, her jaw clenching in anger at the idea of being spoken down on.
"Last time you told me if I had to come to the Moon Dorms to bring Zero because with me because he can protect me. So it's not like I did anything wrong," Mio gave Kaname a gentle smile but her eyes were expressing the opposite.
Zero smirked at Mio's response, not afraid to show his amusement.
"Plus if you have forgotten, Cross Kaien is my father. He may be wacky but he's a perfect defense teacher," Mio raised her wrist. The silver bracelet on her wrist shone as the lights reflected on the metal.
Kaname gave her a polite smile but just like Mio, his eyes were expressing the opposite. "If you must know, a long time ago, there was a war between vampires and vampire hunters. Although today such fights occur, back then, it was at its fiercest point."
"Let me guess, Purebloods would bite humans but never complete the transformation. Instead, purebloods left them to become bloodthirsty creatures," Mio rolled her eyes.
"You know about the Pureblood class?" Yuki spoke up, bringing Mio's attention to her. Scanning her, Mio realized it was the first time Yuki spoke throughout the whole event. Her eyes looked at her in suspicion - something was off with Yuki.
"Just what Takuma and the rest told me," Mio muttered and pushed aside her suspicion for now.
"Yes, that's exactly what Purebloods did. Now, such things don't happen," Kaname continued.
Mio raised her eyebrows, there's not much of a Pureblood class left to do so, she thought to herself.
"The Noble class have taken the role of keeping such vampire under control and when necessary, take care of them,"
