Chapter 27

Chapter 27: Soldier

Tila ang liit ko at nakatago pa kay Elijah. We're in the barracks, their base, and there's a lot of soldiers! Everyone is wearing either their military uniform or the second uniform, navy green shirt and the pants.

Elijah preferred to be in the field instead on a highly secured offices and just behind calls whenever he is needed. He wants to be in the actual action and that's what makes him the most respected General of all times.

Pagdating namin galing ng Isla de Vista, agad kong binuksan ang tinutukoy niya na maleta. Nalaglag ang aking panga habang nakatingin sa uniporme niyang nakatupi roon. The other black luggage contains his guns and in his office, he hid his credentials, everything, even the confidential papers and anything that can point that he is a General, a CEO and not a dummy.

Isinantabi ko ang mga email ni Sharon para mag-ayos ng gamit niya. I ironed his uniform again and placed them hanging on our closet and redecorated his office. Balak ko lang sanang mag-arrange lang ng mga credentials niya sa trabaho. It has every military files including nation's affairs. At nauuwi iyon sa buong opisina ang inayos ko. Naging nasunurin na alagad naman siya habang ginagawa ko iyon.

Tila bagong mag-asawa kami at bagong naglipat bahay. It was fun arranging stuffs with him and moving things around. Kaya pala dark green tas white ang tema ng silid namin kasi dahil sa trabaho niya.

"Magandang umaga, Young General." bati ng mga sundalo.

Nanliliit talaga ako sa tabi niya dahil nasa akin ang titig mula noong pumasok kami. There are accommodation buildings and military tents on the far right and some soldiers are busy building something on the right, some are exercising their martial techniques. Isang compound ito na base mismo ng mga sundalo. I saw soldier cars and staffs around. Training grounds and on the north part, the military flag and the Philippine flag has risen on the top of the pole.

Sobrang intense ng paligid para sa akin. And Elijah beside me chuckled when he noticed I am hiding behind him.

Hinapit niya ako sa baywang kaya nabalik ako sa kanyang tabi. We are in the the middle of the crowd of soldiers. Kami ni Elijah ang civilian sa paligid. Technically I am the only civilian. Pero naka hoodies kasi si Elijah at itim na pantalon tsaka sneakers. Tila hindi siya Heneral sa suot niya. Just my oridinary dummy.

"Everyone, this is my wife, Amber Valencia-Buenavista." baritono niyang pakilala na may malapad na ngiti sa labi.

"Young Madame,"

"Uy, boss! Matagal namin itong inasam-asam."

"Hello po, Young Madame. Ang ganda niyo po,"

Sunod sunod silang bumabati sa akin. Ngumiti ako habang umiinit ang aking pisngi. They welcomed me with a warm greeting and respectful smile.

"Hello, nice to m-meet you all," mahina kong tugon.

"Naks naman, boss. Pati boses ng asawa ninyo ang ganda!" giit ng sundalo at yumuko ng konti sa akin. "Pasensya na po, Young Madame."

Elijah chuckled and caress my waist a bit. Mas dumami ngayon ang mga sundalo sa aming paligid. Kinagat ko ang maliit na parte ng aking pang-ilalim na labi.

"Gusto kong ibigay ninyo ang respeto na mas higit pa sa respeto ninyo sa akin. She'll be coming around when I'm here. I trust all of you will do your duties." ma-authoridad na sinabi ni Elijah.

Sabay sabay na naglagay ng kanang kamay sa noo ang mga sundala bilang saludo sa sinabi ng Young General nila.

"Yes, Young General." ani nila.
