At last, Amir was showing me around the city. It took me hours of begging but he eventually gave in.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I was paying for everything in exchange?

Well, I am.

"Amir, haba mana(Come on). See, my money has finished oh. You that likes to form big boy, pay for the movie now." I hissed.

He chuckled, "Why should I pay? Is it me that called on to this outing? Abeg Hajiya(Please Madam), if you don't want to go back home now, you better pay."

I smacked his arm earning a deep frown from him.

"Oya, just pay now. I will pay you back later." I told him.

He eyed me, "Who are you lying to? Na kama miki da wawa?(Do I resemble a fool to you?)"

I rolled my eyes.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't angry. This Amir boy was seriously getting on my nerves and I was on the verge of yelling at him.

"Yo! Amiru!" We both heard someone yell.

At the same time, we turned to see who it was.

"Ah, Khali!" Amir ran over to the tall guy approaching us.

Ah Ah, how many friends does this boy even have?

It's like it's only me that thinks he's an introvert oh. So this is the real Amir?

I watched them hug before they started chatting.

After a short while, they came up to me and Amir's friend outstretched his hand to me with a dashing toothy grin.

"Hello, I'm Khalil Mahmood. You are..."

Amir cut in, "My annoying cousin, Karimah Usman. Let's just pretend she's not here abeg, we have a lot of catching up to do."

I hissed as I shook Khalil's hand, "Please, it's nice to meet you."

Khalil then turned to Amir with a death glare, "Kai ko. How is she annoying? From what I see Karimah is very nice. Maybe you're just too arrogant."

Amir rolled his eyes, "Ai that's what you will say because you want to impress her. Khali, I know you too well, just remember that."

"That one is your business. Um, Karimah, it's nice to meet you too. I take it, you just moved into town. I've never seen you before and of course, this idiot never told me about you." He elbowed Amir playfully.

"Yes. I just came here for University, I actually live in Kaduna." I told him.

"Who even asked you? Khalil, please don't waste time talking to this girl. Let's just go." Amir urged.

"Ah Ah, what's the rush now? Okay, we're all here to see a movie so let's go inside the theatre now."

"Ai shine(That's it), but Amir doesn't want to pay for the movie ticket." I said.

Amir secretively glared at me when Khalil wasn't looking.

"Fine, I'll pay." Khalil said.

"Abeg(Please) no now. This girl is supposed to pay! She's the one that dragged me here oh." Amir snapped.

Khalil simply ignored him and paid for the tickets without another word.

We then got popcorn and soft drinks before going into the theatre.

I had to admit, I was really impressed with Khalil's mature reaction to this.

The situation was just childish and Amir was at fault. He was arguing with me just to pay for movie tickets.

Khalil didn't even think twice before agreeing to buy the tickets even as we didn't ask.

After the movie, we went to a restaurant and got seated on a table where we ate together.

"So Khali, how was the trip now?" Amir asked Mubarak.

"It was...okay. I actually met some fine babes but they were forming so I just left them. You know me, I don't like wasting my time." He responded dryly.

"Ehen, before did you think that everybody would bow down to you? You're not okay oh."

Khalil hissed, "Kai, Ka kiyaye ni fah(Hey, beware of me)."

Amir laughed at him.

Annoyed, Khalil turned his attention to me, "So, how are you settling in so far?"

I shrugged, "I mean, I'm doing okay. I'm still getting to know my way around here but Alhamdulillah, I've come this far."

"That's good. I must say, I'm impressed." He commended with a grin.

It was taking me a while to reply to his comment.

I found myself taking in his facial features. He was slightly light-skinned and he had this silky looking black hair.

"Um, are you halfcast?" I blurted out.

He chuckled, "Oh, so you're checking me out. Let me not make you uncomfortable, I'll just answer your question - yes, I am."

He further explained, "My dad is from Pakistan and my mom is Nigerian. I took his looks but as a result of being born and bred in Nigeria, I behave and speak like a true Nigerian."

"Oh, that's nice." I said. He smiled in return.

I looked over at Amir and realized he was too concentrated on whatever he was doing on his phone that he clearly wasn't paying any attention to us.

Relieved that Amir wasn't going to interrupt, I decided to continue my little chat with Khalil.

He seemed...interesting.

"By the way, I also attend Nile and live here in Abuja. I went on a short trip to Dubai during the holiday but as you can see, I'm back now." He informed me.

"So you're in the same level as Amir?"

"Yup. Hey, I just want you to know that you're going to have a good time here." He said.

I nodded, "Thanks, I really needed that."

We jumped into a whole new conversation and I found myself opening up to Khalil about a lot of things.

So, he was the second of Amir's friends I've met so far and to be honest, I'm beyond glad I got to meet him.
