It was the dark of night. Every home in San Roque was silent. The townsfolk heed the advice of Cristobal and Lorena: garlic and chili in the doors and windows, followed by a sprinkle of Holy Water. Lights were out, and everything went quiet, except for the couple's squadron packed with bolos, torches, and concoctions of garlic cloves and chilis. They were ready to fight to the invading horde of manananggals from Hacienda Del Fierro.
Then, an eerie sound of laughter and flapping wings were heard.
Suddenly, Doña Ariana grabbed Lorena by the neck. Soon, her minions attacked the babaylan army with all their might. Choking for air, Lorena struggled, yet was able to brandish her bolo and slashed Doña Ariana's right wing. The manananggal matriach stalled and both crashed to the ground.
Meanwhile, Cristobal was still looking for Don Salvador while other male manananggals were attacking the albularyos.
"Don Salvador! Come fight me!", Cristobal shouted.
"Is that what you want?", said Don Salvador from behind, "Then let's fight until death!" He stabbed Cristobal's back with his claws. But Cristobal turned back and swung his bolo towards Don Salvador's left wing, incapacitating the patriarch.
Doña Ariana, now injured on to the ground, was still determined to kill Lorena. She crawled towards her and bit her shoulder. But Lorena never succumbed to the pain, and made a quick elbow to Doña Ariana's head, which made her fall to the ground one last time.
"This is your last, you crazy bitch, for all the men, women, and children you murdered!", says Lorena.
"I will not be defeated!", Doña Ariana cried as Lorena made her final stab to the heart.
Lorena then passed out.
Still injured, Cristobal made a fistfight with Don Salvador, now impaled to the ground.
"You butchered hundreds of people in this province," Cristobal said, "and this is to pay back their lost lives!" Cristobal continued punching Don Salvador until he was bloodied.
Now weakened, Don Salvador then told Cristobal, "You win, but soon enough you will regret the future."
Cristobal responded, "You will never win!", after which he finished Don Salvador with an uppercut.
"I used to do boxing at the town fiesta when I was young, so sorry about that," he then joked.
Everything went silent, as the manananggal horde fell down to the brave army of faith healers.
