Orange Field Towers, a condominium complex on Clarity Avenue, was silent for the night after a seemingly mundane day. Nothing out of the ordinary. But it quickly became clear that this building will be the target of Alexander Del Fierro, the manananggal hungry for the blood of the Changco family. 

The Changco family is a group of successful academic people of East Asian descent. Tabitha, secretary to Alice del Fierro, is the daughter to both Elijah and Miriam, professors of the prestigious Reino Felipe II University. Tabitha has a younger brother named Bartholemew, nicknamed Bart, and a younger sister, named Elizabeth, nicknamed Liza. Bart is a secretary in a law firm and is currently taking law school, while Liza is in senior high school taking STEM. They all live together in unit 2120 of the Orange Field Towers.

Despite being of East Asian descent known for traditions and customs, the family is deeply devoted to Christianity, being ministry leaders of a nearby local church. Their religious devotion is a grave threat to evil entities, including the demonic manananggal hordes.

That night, Elijah finished having a small group with his church mates, while Miriam had prepared dinner. 

"Dinner's ready!", Miriam called out the family and their visitors.

As they were taking their dinner, Liza heard her phone buzzing. It was her neighbor sending a chat message.

"Liza girl, have u seen the news?", the chat message says, "theres a manananggal roaming around d city! U better b careful!!!"

Then, Liza says, "Mom, Dad, I think we need our visitors to go home early. There's a manananggal in the city and we need to shelter ourselves."

Elijah assures everyone, "If that's so, we need the power of prayer. As I told you during our Bible study, we can always pray to the Lord for His divine protection, as the Word says, 'He will never leave us nor forsake us.' After we end dinner, we'll pray together."

After everyone's finished, they held hands together for a battle prayer, led by Elijah.

"Father God, I thank you for everyone gracing this home right now. Tonight, we ask for Your divine protection from the demonic attack ravaging our city. We cast out the manananggal away from our home in the name of Jesus! No-one shall be harmed from the monster sent by demons to destroy us! Right now we declare this home protected from evil. In Jesus' name, Amen!"

Soon enough, Alexander was approaching the Orange Field Towers in an attempt to attack the Changco family. However, what he saw terrified him. He saw a bright force field suddenly wrapping the unit where the family lives. The monster was taken aback by the powerful light.

Meanwhile, inside Alexander's body, Miguel's soul emerges. Miguel spoke to Alexander, "I won't let you take Tabby's family! Never!" Alexander's body starts to shake, as he held his head in excruciating pain and flew back in the direction of DF Towers.

Down below, Captain Ortega was following the manananggal's path. He told his men not to follow him, so that he can deal with the monster on his own.
