Asking for Protection

The visitors of the Changco family that night had just left, and the family is now ready to go to bed. However, Tabby was still at the veranda looking at the skyline below. Elijah and Miriam saw their daughter staring at the view, and became worried.

"Tabby, it's already late, you need to go to bed," Miriam said to her daughter.

"Dear, what's wrong?" asked Eli.

"Mom, Dad, I have to tell you something about my boyfriend Miguel," Tabby answered. She asked them to go to her room and check something from her laptop.

Tabby opened a video file from her laptop, and in it was the CCTV footage from the DF Hotel parking area from 5 years ago. "This is the very first footage I downloaded from the DF group servers. This is about what has happened to my boyfriend for the past 5 years," she told her parents.

She played the video footage when Miguel, 18 years old at that time, came from an anniversary party of Del Fierro group. Miguel was totally in distress, confused, and agitated. Suddenly, a streak of light, likely of the full moon, came to him, and there he screamed. The next thing that happened in the video clip terrified Tabby's parents. Miguel transformed into a manananggal, and tried to attack the guard on duty at the hotel parking lot.

"Oh my Lord Jesus!," exclaimed Miriam, "have mercy on him!"

"Tabby, is this true? Miguel is a manananggal?," asked Eli.

"Yes, Dad, and I wanna show you another clip, it's from my video call with our friend Doctor Earl Komar a few years ago. He conducted an experiment inside Miguel's apartment," said Tabby.

In the video clip, Dr. Komar said this to her:

"Tabby, Miguel is likely possessed with a demonic entity, and that entity transforms him physically into a manananggal. Some call it a wakwak, some call it an ikki, because he's male, or some would generally categorize as an aswang, but it's the same thing. Manananggals are typically vampiric - they usually have an appetite for human flesh and blood, some of them are obsessed with killing fetuses from mothers' wombs, some of them are obsessed with eating whole human organs, like the heart, liver or brain, some would just attack and slash one to pieces until it's fit for one to eat. Most manananggals are female, but male manananggals do exist but are very rare yet are more dangerous. 

As you may observe with these cases of manananggals, most of them are very attractive when they are in human form. I mean they are very pretty and very handsome, very seductive almost. Whoever comes near them can become their future prey. Yeah, you do like Miguel for being handsome, but oh boy, he looked ugly as hell when he transformed.

Manananggals would typically transform in the dark of night. But in this case, Miguel only transforms if he gets exposed to moonlight, but only on a full moon. He never transforms during a crescent or waning moon. As you may know, a full moon only lasts one or two days, so for that window alone, to avoid causing harm, Miguel would typically hide from society. 

Tabby, you have to understand his condition."

Tabby asked Dr. Komar during the call, "So, how do we treat him in this condition?"

Dr. Komar answered, "Luckily, this entity's very vulnerable. As Miguel transformed, I asked the spirit his name, he didn't answer at first, but when I persisted, he gave out this name: 

Alexander Del Fierro, the prince of the manananggal kingdom, the vicious murderer, the Moonlight Assassin."

Upon hearing the name, Eli commented, "So this is the Alexander that Miguel was talking about! But why is he identifying himself as a Del Fierro?"

The video continued with Eli saying, "When I tried to cast Alexander out in the Name of Jesus, he was weakened like he fears the Holy Name of the Lord. I would guess the way to completely obliterate this entity is to call out his name and defeat him by the power of the Blood of Jesus! However, we have to be warned that he might have strongholds from his blood family that must be stopped before he gets defeated.

Tabby ended the video, and said, "Dad, Mom, we will have to take action before everything gets worse. We have to pray for Miguel, that he may not be harmed by the evil spirit Alexander."

Eli, Miriam, and Tabby prayed together for protection for Miguel that night. 

As Miguel laid on his bed that night, he saw a vision that would terrify him to the core.
