The True Identity

Sylvia del Fierro has been furious about who she thought was Miguel Mangubat who seemed to gain some supernatural strength. It was Alexander who was taking over Miguel's body to counteract the mangkukulam's actions. In her desperation,  she gave whatever power she had left for the night. She chanted:

"Let this rogue monster suffer,

on what comes after;

With all of my might,

be destroyed of my power!"

A huge dark ball of energy headed towards Alexander meant to kill him. However, as the energy ball drew near, suddenly, mysterious beams of light streamed around his body. These beams of light shone through the darkness, destroying it.

"NOOOOO!!!!!!", screamed Sylvia as she passed out.

Alexander had just won over the witch.

Immediately, Cristobal and Lorena became conscious, unaware of what just happened. Alexander went over to check on them.

"Nay! Tay! Are you alright?", asked Alexander in Miguel's voice.

"What just happened, anak? What happened to that witch?", asked Cristobal.

Lorena looked over the other side and saw Sylvia on the floor, "Oh my God! Is that Sylvia?", she exclaimed.

"Yes, Nay. I don't know what came over me, but Sylvia tried to kill me, kill us. But there's a force of light that came to protect me and destroy the dark energy that came from her," said Alexander.

"Praise the God Almighty for His protection to us!", declared Cristobal, "It was His angels who protected you from the dark forces. I believe in it, my son."

"Yes, now I know that Jesus Christ saved us," said Alexander.

"Yes indeed," said Lorena, "for He loved us."

In tears of joy, Alexander hugged Miguel's parents tightly. He felt a love so great that it overcame his evil intentions towards them. He no longer thought of his lineage as a manananggal. Then, as he closed his eyes, Alexander thought of something he never did before.

"Nanay, Tatay, I have something to confess," Alexander said.

He stepped back in front of them, declaring to them, in his real deeper voice.

"I am Alexander del Fierro, whom you are seeing right now, the son of Don Salvador and Doña Ariana del Fierro," he said, as Cristobal and Lorena were surprised and concerned.

Alexander continued, "I am the person that had been in Miguel since he was born, the one destined to destroy mankind as a manananggal. But I can't do it right now, because it's not a full moon. All I can do is to take over Miguel's consciousness. Indeed, we're two persons fighting over one body."

Lorena cried, "Where is Miguel now? Where is he?!"

"Miguel lies deep in his mind right now," Alexander responded, "I can't explain how, but it's how we became like this. When you took him away from the Hacienda, and let him grow under your care, I as Alexander was overshadowed."

"Oh no! That explains it!" Cristobal thought.

"Explains of what?", asked Lorena.

"That Alexander is not a true manananggal! Miguel is not a manananggal!", exclaimed Cristobal, "True manananggal can transform at will, but not Alexander, who could only appear in a full moon! It could only mean that Alexander's lineage may be from a human. That human turned into a manananggal by some ritual or some curse. But who could that human be?"
