Imagine taking a walk with Prince Thranduil

There was nothing more you liked than being outside beneath the shade of the trees and walking barefoot over the mossy ground of the forest, except Prince Thranduil. Of course, he did not know of your interest in him, but he did, however, know of your admiration for nature. The Prince sat beside you during your daily outside meeting in which you usually always sat staring delightedly at the trees and plants, too entranced to notice how the Prince gazed at you with as much or more admiration than you did at the forest in front of you.

It was to no surprise when during a blink of an eye you no longer sat in his eyesight. He looked up and found you looking down at him with bright eyes.

"May we go for a walk?" you asked him almost giddy. He tried his best not to laugh. You had always been curious, and nothing could hold your attention for long, except him. The Prince always thought of a curious fawn whenever you looked at him with mischievous eyes though he thought you were more adorable.

"Of course," he replied as he put his large warm hand in your extended small one. You helped him up, and when he stood at his full height, which was a foot taller than you, you smiled at him and moved past him. Taking walks was something you did quite often, so you knew many wonderful locations. Settling for the perfect spot, you began unconsciously walking in quick light steps. To any of the race of man, it would have appeared as if you were floating. A smile formed on your lips when you heard the chirping of a bird, you responded to it by whistling the same tune and laughed lightly when the bird chirped back. Beside you, the Prince looked at you with a warm smile, but yet again you were too distracted to notice. When you realized you were a couple of steps ahead of the Prince, you walked toward him and grabbed him by the wrist, urging him to move faster.

"Come on, we are almost there," you said excitedly and dragged him along. Prince Thranduil chuckled beside you. You could not help but admire him. You always liked making him smile or laugh. There was something otherworldly attractive whenever he was acting carefree and lively which made your stomach feel as if hundreds of butterflies were flying around in it.

"Do you like being in the water, Prince Thranduil?" you asked him when you reached your destination. You inhaled a fresh breath of air and took in the magnificent scenery you had accidentally found one time in which you had gotten lost. The trunks of the trees made a clearing in which sat a medium sized pond with turquoise water surrounded by flowers of the brightest colors you had ever seen.

"Y/N, please call me Thranduil. I think we are past formalities, do you not?" As he had asked his question, you had walked closer to the body of water. You grinned at him.

"I suppose," you replied smoothly, "but you should not give me that much right," you crouched near the water. Your hand reached out and splashed the fresh crystalline water softly.

"And why is that?"

"Are we friends?" you asked, changing the subject.

"Of course," he said with confusion. You grinned again as you turned toward the pond in front of you, a plan forming in your mind. A fake gasp left your lips. You pointed at a ripple of water.

"Come here," you said standing up. "Look at that fish." You pointed at the water as he got closer. Except, there was no fish. It had however gotten him where you wanted. When he least expected it, you brought your hands forward and pushed Thranduil into the water. A fit of giggles shook your body as he resurfaced with a look of utter shock. You opened your mouth to taunt him through your laughter but fell short when his face fell gravely. Your heart sunk when you realized that you had crossed the line.

"I am so sorry," you apologized while bringing your hands up to cover your mouth. He stared at your wide round eyes with no emotion.

"Help me out," he said sternly. You hurriedly made your way to the edge of the pond and extended your arm to pull him out. Your small hand met his large cold one and his fingers locked around yours. You started pulling toward yourself when in a sudden movement, Thranduil pulled you toward his direction with a strength that caused you to fall headfirst into the fresh water. As fast as you fell in, you resurfaced gasping and flailing around. You looked at him with parted lips, a look of disbelief. When you took in his twinkling eyes, you both began laughing uncontrollably.

"I wish you could have seen your expression," he said after he had stopped laughing.

"I wish you could have seen yours," you responded while cupping your hands and splashing water in his direction. He retaliated immediately with a stronger force. In the end, you were the one getting soaked. Your hands instinctively covered your face as you alternated between giggling and squealing. He abruptly stopped splashing water, but you still did not uncover your face. You looked at him through the gaps between your fingers and found him treading through the water toward you. You placed your fingers tightly together when he began splashing you again.

"Okay okay," you squealed. "You win!" you said through laughs. He only stopped splashing you when he stood in front of you. You felt his hands wrap around your wrists and he pried your hands from shielding your face. You looked up at him. Your heart began hammering against your chest when you noticed the way he was looking at you. "You should laugh and smile more," you felt yourself saying. A smile formed on his lips complying to your suggestion. "Like that," you said in a breathy whisper. You were not entirely sure, but his face seemed to be getting closer to yours. You felt heat rising to your cheeks when you noticed his eyes intently on your lips. At that moment you were certain that his face moved slowly toward yours. You instinctively moved closer.

"Prince Thranduil!" you heard someone shouting. You both immediately stepped away from each other. You coughed awkwardly and moved your hair behind your ear. When you looked at him, you found that he looked as flushed as you felt.

"Now how will we explain our state?" you asked him, looking down at your wet clothing.

"We will say that you pushed me in and proceeded to fall after," he replied matter-of-factly and winked toward your direction causing you to laugh and shove him playfully.
