The silent kitten

Chapter 3

I woke up the next morning feeling very energetic. I got dressed in my favorite outfit. An ocean blue tank with small feathers on the shoulder and a black skirt with a skull belt along with my black leggings and brown fur boots with sharp teeth dangling on strings. I tied some eagle feathers into my hair. I then walked down the stairs and grabbed a roll and plopped down on the couch eating it. My parents came down the stairs dressed for the day. "We are going now we will be repairing the village and won't be back till night fall. So stay in your room today and be good" My mother says as she kisses my head.

After they left Ruff and Tuff came down the stairs and jump over the back of the couch landing on me. "OOF!!!" I say as they land on me. "Get off your heavy" I grunt pushing them off of me. "What are you going to do today" Tuff says looking at me from the floor. "I don't know probably read the last of my book before I'm shown off as the hidden beauty of the Thorstons" I reply cheekily. They laugh and start wrestling. They eventually stop and get up. "Well we are off to school then to help with the rebuilding so be back later with mom and dad" Ruff says as they leave the house.

I get up and walk to the door. I open it a crack and look around. After I see the coast is clear I slip out and slink behind the houses until I get to the forest. I walk to the cove.... well more like skipped then run. I was so happy and excited. Tomorow I wasn't going to be locked up anymore I would be able to walk out the front door and without having to avoid my parents and *have friends!!* Now I was sprinting to the cove. I finally arrived at the cove out of breath but with a big smile.

I saw the two dragons laying next to each look up at me as I enter the cove. "Hey guys how are you today?" I ask the dragons who sit up and give me gummy smiles. I chuckle and scratch them under their chins which they fell over with happy smiles. "Well I'll have to remember that you guys like that" I tell them as they get back up. Amenyx walks behind me and trips me which makes me fall back and roll over her head till I sat on her back. "Woah that was fun" I giggle out. I lean down and scratch behind her ears.

She barked at the other dragon and started running off and jumping into the air. I clutch her neck as she takes off into the air. We went higher and higher till we were under the clouds. I slowly uncurled my arms from around her neck and position myself on her back better. I sat up and looked around smiling. I threw my arms out and yell "WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!" I put my hand in the clouds enjoying this feeling. I've never felt this way before this freedom this excitement. I laid down on Amenyx's back and hugged her. I looked down to the ground only to see ocean.

"Hey Amenyx wanna try something?" I ask her. She turns to me with her gummy smile. "Catch me" I say as I fall off her back. I look down and spin and look to see Amenyx falling along side me smiling her tongue flopping around in the wind. I look down and decide that it would be a good time to get back on Amenyx's back. I hold my arms out to her and she understood and spun her back to me. I grabbed ahold of her neck and positioned myself for when she pulls up.

She pulled up really close to the ocean, so close that I could feel the spray of the water on my face. I laughed and put my hand in the water. We kept going and saw some scauldren swimming in the water below us. We finally turned around and headed back to the cove. When we landed we didn't see the other dragon. We landed and looked around.

I then saw something that was never here before. A shield. Whoever shot the nightfury down last night has come to find his trophy. I looked around again and saw a tuft of brown hair. I tap Amenyx and point to the dragon that I saw was on the wall. I then pointed to the tuft of brown hair and she went to growl but I stopped her and pointed to her then the other dragon. I started to slink over to the rock quietly. Whoever was behind the rock was mumbling and moving towards the right of the rock. I moved to the left slowly going around till I saw the boys back. He was looking around and then he gasped. I ducked back when he turned around and got behind the rock again. I went the opposite side and crawled on top of the rock. I looked down at the boy.

"What are you doing in my cove?" I ask the boy. He jumps and yells. He is standing now and backing away from me. I slide off the rock and the dragons jump down and stand on either side of me. "T-those are n-nightfuries!! H-how are you able t-to stand n-next to them?!" the boy stutters out. I look at the boy "I asked you a question first" I state. The boy looked really scared. "My name is Hiccup and I'm here cause I heard the nightfuries cries from a little ways that way and came here to find that he couldn't get out." He says slowly. "I stand next to them cause they know I'm not gonna attack them. And my name is Kitten but I go by Kit." I tell Hiccup.

He still looks frightened. I walk up to him and he flinched. "Relax I'm not gonna hurt you" I tell him as I start to search him. I find a dagger and grab it. I turn and walk to the pond and drop it in the pond. I turned back around to see both dragons still staring at Hiccup, but less tense now. "They won't hurt you" I say as I put my hands on both of their heads. "This is Amenyx" I say as I look at her and she trills at me. I look at the other dragon and guid him forward. I grab Hiccup's hand which I get a noise of fear. I leave the dragon and bring Hiccup closer. "They are just as afraid as you are, but if you can trust them to not hurt you while you close your eyes it's a whole new experience" I say softly in his ear.

He was shaking like crazy. "Just shut your eyes and look away, trust him and he will trust you" I say as I hold his hand out and take his face and turn it. I put my hand up and softly brushed it down his face. He closed his eyes, took a deap breath and stopped shaking. I stepped away and went to stand next to Amenyx. I wrapped my arms around her neck and watched the dragon stare at the boy in front him.

The dragon pushed his snout into the boys hand. I smiled and walk up to them. Amenyx right behind me. "See? What did I tell you?" I say with a smile. Hiccup looked at me then the dragon with a bewildered look. "I-I don't know what to say" He stuters out. "Now you can talk with him heck you can even name him so that he knows that you are talking to him" I say as I pet the dragon under his chin causing him to fall on his side with a happy grin and his tongue lolling out of his mouth.

Hiccup looked at me with a questioning look. "Why are you staring at me?" I ask as I look up at the boy. "Where are you from?" He says bluntly. "heheh" I giggle out. He blushed slightly. "How about we save that for next time?" I say as I stand up and walk to Amenyx. "I'll come to visit again until then do you mind taking care of him for me? I fed him already today so he is good for now, but you might wanna bring a couple fish for him every now and then" I say winking at him. I hop onto Amenyx's back and look at Hiccup and the dragon. "Play nice boys I mean it when I come back I wanna see progress. Ok?" I say with a light chuckle. "Until next time Hiccup" And with that Amenyx took off into the sky.

I had Amenyx drop me off a little ways away from the cove. After she dropped me off on the ground I made my way back to the village. When I got to the edge I looked around and saw my parents working on a house which was almost done. I slunk around the village heading back to my house. I get back to my house and go up to my room. I shut the door and grab my book and laid down on my bed and just read I fell asleep that night thinking about what the morning would bring. I didn't even hear my family come home.
