Chapter 12

"Hey you know I just happened to notice that the book has nothing about the Nightfuries. Is there another book or a sequel, maybe a nightfury pamphlet? AGH!!!" Hiccup questions then yells as a blast blows his battle ax to nothing. "Woah!" he yells as he looks around. I roll my eyes as Gobber yells out "Focus Hiccup! Your not even trying" He turns and a look of terror comes to his face. The deadly Nadder turned the corner and spotted us. "Run!" I yell at Hiccup. The Deadlynadder jumps down and starts to chase us.

"Today is all about attack!" Gobber yells out from somewhere. The deadlynadder jumps up on the wall and roars at us. We continue to run and the deadlynadder continues to follow us. "Nadders are light and quick on their feet. Your job is to be quicker and lighter" Gobber says as the Nadder spikes up its tail and launches its spikes at Fishlegs. Fishlegs runs while holding his shield up screaming. "I'm really starting to question your teaching methods!" Fishlegs says as he continues to run.

"Look for his blind spot. Every dragon has one. Find it. Hide in it. And strike" Gobber says as the twins run into the Nadder and stand in front of its face. Ruff sniffed and groaned "Do you ever bathe?" She asks in disgust. "If you don't like it then get your own blind spot" Tuff says as the twins start pushing each other. The Nadder watches them as the twins start headbutting. "How about I give you one!" Ruff yells out as the Nadder launches a plasma blast. The twins barely dodged it.

"Blind spot yes. Deaf spot, eh not so much. Heheheh" Gobber chuckles out. "Hey hey how would one sneak up on a nightfury?" Hiccup stops right under Gobber to ask. "No one has ever met one and lived to tell the tale. NOW GET IN THERE!!!!!" Gobber yells at Hiccup. I just roll my eyes and follow him into the maze. Man this boy is determined to find out all that he can about these nightfuries. I look at the back of Hiccups head as we run around.

This boy might just die with how stubborn he is. Oh well I might as well be his sword then. I think to myself. I give a small smile. "I know I know but hypothetically" Hiccup continues to try to talk to Gobber as we turn a corner. We see Astrid and Snotlout crouched at the end of a wall. She turns and tells us "Get down" She looks around the corner and quickly retreats back to the wall. The Nadder was really close I could smell it. Wow now I can smell dragons. Astrid looks around and then rolls to the next wall when the Nadders blind spot was in the perfect position.

Snotlout followed and Hiccup tried but the shield stopped him from finishing his roll. The Nadder spotted him and started to stalk towards him. Hiccup tries getting up as fast as he can. The Nadder almost got to him before I jump up and punch the Nadder back away from Hiccup. I push Hiccup up and pushed him into a run. The Nadder jumped up onto the wall again and started to hop around.

The Nadder landed in front of Astrid and Snotlout. Astrid went to attack but Snotlout pushed her aside as she protested and said "Watch out babe I take care of this" As he threw his mace and missed the Nadder. The Nadder looked at where the mace landed then turned back to them and gave them a dragon chuckle. I couldn't help but to chuckle with it.

Astrid looked at Snotlout with a 'are you serious' look. "What the sun was in my eyes Astrid!" he protested. The Nadder let out a plasma blast which Astrid and Snotlout dodged just in time. "What do you want me to do block out the sun? Cause I can do that" He asks as they run. He kept babbling as they ran and split up. The Nadder started to chase Astrid after Snotlout left Astrids side. She kept running and took a sharp left turn barely avoiding Hiccup and I. The Nadder wasn't so lucky and fell onto the wall.

Astrid kept running and the Nadder kept following her knocking down the rest of the walls. "H-has anyone ever seen one?" Hiccup was back under Gobber asking him about nightfuries. I was standing close to him ready to push him out of the way. The others started to run by I pulled Hiccup out of the way. "Hiccup!" Gobber yells and points back to the falling maze. "Why aren't you doing anything Kit? You did so well yesterday why are you sticking to Hiccup?" Gobber asks me. I look up at him and just smirk. "That's for me to know and for you to find out" I tell him as Astrid starts to jump on the top of the walls with the Nadder following her.

"HICCUP!!!!!" Astrid yells as she falls on top of Hiccup. The walls fell down, after the dust cloud cleared I saw Astrid laying on top of Hiccup with her axe in his shield. She was trying to pull it out and I saw my siblings in a little cave watching them. "OOOO love on the battle field" Tuff taunts as Astrid puts her hand on Hiccups face trying to get her ax out. "She could do better" Ruff says as Astrid continues to struggle. I was getting irritated at how everyone was treating Hiccup. "Why don't you....?" Hiccup starts but I walked up to them and lift Astrid up by the back of her shirt. I put her down and pull the axe out of the shield. I then help Hiccup up.

I grabbed Hiccups shield and turn to the advancing Nadder Astrid goes to attack the Nadder but it swipes her away with its tail. As the Nadder gets close enough I hit it really hard with the shield shattering it. I walk up to the Nadder that is still stumbling around. I grab the horn on its nose and holding its mouth down to the ground. I looked into its eyes and it settled down and laid there curling its tail around its self.

I turn around and sit on the dragons head. Everyone was staring at me. "Well done Kit" Gobber says after a moment of silence. Astrid was walking over and went up to Hiccup. "Is this some kind of a joke to you? "She asks him as he sits up and looks at her. "Our parents war is about to become ours. Figure out which side you're on" She says pointing her axe at him. I was petting the Nadder under me as this is all happening.

I look down at the Nadder. I give a small trill lightly to the dragon. It looks at me and gives a light purr. "You understand me don't you?" I ask the dragon. It looks at me curiously. "You are like them and yet you speak our language. Why?" It asks. I look around and grab its horn and pull. It follows me as I walk it to its door. "I have dragon blood running through my veins. I am learning about the dragon side of me right now" I say under my breath to the dragon.

We arrive at its door. "Well in you go. You will be free again one day" I whisper to the dragon as it walks past me. "I hope so. I miss the sky" It says solemnly. I give it a small smile as I shut the door. I turn around after locking the door. I walk over to Hiccup who is still sitting on the ground moping. I stand in front of him and cleared my throat. He looked up to me then back down. I sigh and grab the boys arm and hoist him up.

Once he is standing I look up at him and slap both of his cheeks. "Hey stop with that face" I tell him as he rubs his cheeks. I look around to see that we are alone. "Besides you shot down a nightfury. And you get to go visit one right now" I tell him as I grab his hand and walk out of the academy.
