The silent kitten

Chapter 34

We flew off after Astrid when Hiccup got Toothless. We flew for a little bit before I spotted her. I pointed her out to Amenyx and we dove down and grabbed her as she was jumping over a log. "Oh great Odin skulls. This is..... AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" We flew up to a tall pine tree and dropped her off on top. Hiccup then landed next to her on the tree top. "Hiccup get me down from here!" She shouts hanging onto a branch. "You have to give us a chance to explain" Hiccup says holding his hand out to her. "I am not listening to anything you guys have to say" She retorts as she swings closer to the trunk.

"Then we won't speak just let me show you" He says. She looks down. "Please Astrid" He says softly. She grunts and climbs on top of the branch. She goes to put her hand on Toothless's side and he growls. Hiccup holds his hand out to help her up. She swats it away. As she goes to climb onto Toothless he growls at her causing her to flinch before actually climbing into the saddle. She finally swings up onto his back behind Hiccup. "Now get me down" Astrid demands looking down to the ground. "Toothless. Down. Gently." Hiccup tells the dragon patting his head.

I giggle and tighten my legs around Amenyx's back ready for launch. "See nothing to be scared of" Hiccup says as Toothless expands his wings. The next thing Hiccup and Astrid know Toothless shoots off. "WOOAAHHHH!!!!!!!!" Hiccup yells as they go up into the air. Amenyx takes off after them just as fast. I smiled happily as we continued to go up at a fast pace. Astrid was screaming and slowly falling towards the ocean. Hiccup started to yell at Toothless. "Toothless! What is wrong with you?! Bad dragon!!!"

Astrid was able to slide back behind Hiccup and wrapped her arms around him as Toothless leveled out. I growled softly at the sight of Astrid holding Hiccup. "He is not usually like this" Hiccup says guiltily. Then Toothless leans to the left falling with his back towards the ocean. "Oh no" Hiccup says as Astrid starts to scream again. Amenyx copied him causing me to smile. Then the dragons went under the waves and leaped in and out of the water getting us all wet. "Toothless what are you doing?! We need her to like us!!" Hiccup says above the waves.

Toothless then starts to fly towards the sky again. He started to spin making Astrid scream some more. "And now he's spinning" Hiccup says irritatedly. Amenyx spun us around making me laugh out with joy. As we stopped spinning I looked over and saw Hiccup smiling at me. I give him a smile back and wink at him. A small blush dusts his cheeks. I giggle and lay low to Amenyx hugging her neck. "Thank you you useless reptile" Hiccup says mockingly.

Toothless started to spin and fall back to the ocean again with Amenyx following close behind him. "Ok ok I'm sorry I'm sorry. Just get me off of this thing" Astrid says burying her face into Hiccups back causing a sharp pain go through my chest. I wish she would get her hands off of him. Toothless looked back at the boy and girl and opened his wings gliding along the currents. We then ascended to the clouds at a soft and easy pace.

Astrid looked around in aw at all of the fluffy white clouds. As she relaxed she released her hold on Hiccup making me a little happier. Astrid put her hand up into the clouds above her waving her hand around in the white fluff. She looked amazed as her eyes grew with wonder. I smiled at how she was reacting to the flight. Toothless spun around a couple times before going above the clouds into the starry sky above. Astrid gasped in astonishment. Her hand moved up Hiccups side making the boy slightly flinch.

I turned to see Astrid looking at the stars with a smile on her face. I was happy that Astrid was enjoying her first flight. Hopefully she won't run off to the village telling them about our dragons. The stars shone down on us as a beautiful Aurora danced across the sky. As the rainbow flows through the air we flew over Berk seeing all the lights making the village glow. I looked over to see Astrid had a smitten look on her face as she hugged Hiccup resting her head on his shoulder. I looked away and laid close to Amenyx trying really hard not to look over at the boy and girl.

Amenyx grunted and looked at me with a curious face. I just shook my head and slightly growled looking over at the two Vikings. I saw Hiccup looking happy and Astrid still looked smitten she was even staring at Hiccup. We flew around the giant Viking statues around berk before flying back up into the sky. "Alright I admit it. This is pretty cool. It's ... amazing! He's amazing" Astrid says patting Toothless on his side. I looked over at her as she was sitting up now. I sat up and took a deep breath slowly letting it out.
