The silent kitten

Chapter 24

We were flying close to the main island but on the other side away from the side the village was on. I kept a close eye on Hiccup and Toothless to make sure that they didn't get hurt. "Ok there bud. We're gonna take this nice and slow" Hiccup says patting Toothless on the side of his neck. He looked down at his 'cheat sheet'. "Here we go. Here we go. Position three...no four" Hiccup says then moves the pedal around making the fin move.

"Please be careful" I say softly watching the boy flying on the dragon. Toothless grunts and starts to bank left. Amenyx and I follow close behind. Hiccup tests one of the straps as Toothless straightens out again. "Alright it's go time... it's go time" Hiccup says as Toothless roars and starts to dive down. I continue to watch the two boys closely.

"Come on buddy! Come on buddy!" Hiccup shouts as they skim over the ocean. We pass under a huge rock fissure and see birds. I still can't believe that Hiccup and I are riding dragons! I smile happily and hold my arms out. "Woohoo!!!!" I shout feeling Amenyx rumble under me. I lay close to her and pet her head. "This is amazing Nyx. I love being in the sky with you" I tell her sweetly.

Amenyx gives a happy roar and follows the boys a little further away. "Yes it works" Hiccup says happily. Then they run into a rock which earns Hiccup an unhappy grunt from Toothless. "Sorry" Hiccup says sheepishly. Hiccup continues to pull and steer Toothless into the rock fissures making the dragon even more grumpy.

"That's my fault!" Hiccup says and gets slapped by Toothless with his ear. I giggle at the boys behavior, but quickly stop getting concerned and worried about the way they are flying together. They need to get the hang of this or they won't survive. I pushed Amenyx to get closer to the boys who were still flying ahead of us.

"Ya ya I'm on it. Position four no three" Hiccup says as he adjusts the mechanics some more. They start to go up into the sky flying higher and higher. "Ya baby!" Hiccup shouts as Toothless roars while they gain more air. Amenyx and I follow close behind. I started to get this weird feeling in my head and my hair was feeling weird as we continued to fly up with the boys. I had a bad feeling that something was going to happen.

"Aw yes! This is amazing! The wind in my-----CHEAT SHEET!!!!!!!!!" Hiccup says as a piece of paper fly's away from him. Oh no I know why I was getting a bad feeling now. "STOP!!!!" was all I heard before I saw Hiccups straps release from the saddle and Toothless stops flying up. I watched as Hiccup goes up a little more and Toothless starts to fall down.

"HICCUP!!!!!!!" I scream as they start falling. Amenyx and I dive down to try to catch the dragon and boy. "Nononononononono" I say as they continue to fall. They were both yelling and Toothless was roaring and they both wouldn't stop flailing around. I was close enough to Toothless that I jump off of Amenyx. I try to go closer to the dragon but he was flailing around to much.

"Ch" I grunt and look down to Hiccup. "Damn it" I say and straight dive for the boy. I crash into him and turn to see Amenyx trying to get Toothless. "Amenyx!" I shout to her. She comes to me and I put Hiccup on her back. I then turn to Toothless and feel my eyes change. I breathed in and opened my arms and went closer to the dragon who was still flailing.

"Toothless! Stop flailing and just open your wings!" I shout at the dragon. He listens to me and I glide over to him and climb into the saddle. I slip my foot into the pedal. "Ok and stop falling!" I shout as I move the pedal around till we stopped falling. I motion for Amenyx to fly over the top of us which she does. "Hiccup fall down from Amenyx's back Toothless and I will catch you" I shout up to the older boy.

"Are you crazy?!" He shouts at me. "Just do it!" I shout at him angrily. He looks unsure but does what I say. I grab the boy and bring him down in front of me and slip my foot out of the pedal. "Take over!" I shout and jump off again. I continued to fall with the boy and dragon which I should have stayed on. I just realized my stupid mistake.

"Do you realize you hair is shaped like wings?!" Hiccup shouts at me. "What?!" I yell. I turn enough to see my hair. I saw a wing and it looked like Amenyx's and Toothless' wings. I can fly?! I thought to myself. Time to test this out. I looked forward and just about screamed. "Watch out!" Hiccup says and he starts to maneuver around the rock fissures avoiding them. I was following close behind and Amenyx was behind me.

We dodged and banked and twirled around avoiding all of the rock formations. It felt awesome flying by myself. I couldn't believe that my hair could turn into wings for me. I wanted to test them out some more. As we came out of the rock fissures Hiccup raised his hands and shouted "Yaaaa!!!!!" I chuckled and realized a huge fire ball was coming towards us. "Come on" Hiccup says as his arms fall down.

I dodged out of the way with Amenyx and fly closer to Toothless. I get in front of the boys and turn. I smile and stick my tongue out and take off really fast ahead of them. I couldn't believe this feeling. I felt so........ so.......... so free. I twirl around and flew higher into the sky. I flew past the clouds twirling and laughing. I then close my wings and fall back towards the ocean. As I get out of the cloud cover I see Hiccup, Toothless and Amenyx flying towards me.
