The silent kitten

Chapter 41

We all hopped onto our dragons. Hiccup slid on Amenyx behind me. We looked at the others holding onto ropes wrapped around their dragons. "It is time to go save our families and Toothless" I say as we walk out of the arena. "Hold on tight and feel your dragon as you fly. With time you will get use to how they fly and you will be able to fly along side them in bliss" I say looking back at the teens who were nervous. "Come on gang lets go save everyone" Hiccup says as he wraps his arms around my waist. I smile softly and tighten my hold on Amenyx as we take off into the sky.

The teens followed us on the dragons. They were wobbly at first but steadied out as we flew. "Ok you guys!" I yell out. "We need to get there fast so hold on tight and trust your dragon! Now lets go!" I look back to see everyone get determined. I smiled and we sped off into the fog to the island. We flew past a lot of dragons who were flying away scared. "That doesn't look good" Hiccup says in my ear. "No kidding. I can hear the queen she is mad" I say back.

His grip tightened on my waist. "Please don't join the fight Kit" He says softly. "I'll try my best Hic but there are no guarantees. My parents are down there and my siblings are riding with us. If they come close to being hurt I am going to fight for them" I tell him sternly. He kisses my neck softly sending chills down my spine. "Just don't die on me. I need you and want you here in my arms" He says into my neck. "Hic" I say softly. I turn and grab his face crashing my lips to his in a passionate kiss.

I let him go and smile at him. "Hic I will try my best to stay alive if you do so as well" He smiled and pecked my lips softly. "Deal" He says. I turned around to see the queen lifting her head and two people on the ground antagonizing her. "How stupid can those two people be" I mutter to myself. "Amenyx!" I say as we get closer. Amenyx and I load up a fire blast in our mouths and shoot it off hitting the queen in the back of her head.

"YA! Ruff, Tuff watch your backs! Go Fishlegs!" Hiccup yells as we fly around. "Look at us we are on a dragon! A dragon!" Tuffnut yells wiggling around on one of the Zipplebacks heads. "Look at all of us!" Fishlegs yells out on top of the Gronkle. We fly around looking at the ground then fly into a circle to talk. "Fishlegs break it down" Hiccup says looking towards said boy. "Ok ok heavily armored skull and tail made for smashing and crashing. Stay clear of both. Small eyes large nostrils relies on hearing and smell" He says. "Ok Lout Legs make some noise keep it confused. Ruff, Tuff find out if its got a shot limit, make it mad" Hiccup says.

"That's my specialty" Ruff says. "Since when we all know that I'm the more annoying one. See?" Tuff says twisting the head he was on upside down. "Just do what I told you I will be back as soon as I can" Hiccup says irritably. "Don't worry we got it covered!" Snotlout shouts as we split up. Astrid follows us as we fly away to look for Toothless. The teens whoop and holler flying towards the giant queen. The twins started calling the queen names trying to anger her. They fly and dodge as the queen shoots out fire at them. "Um this thing doesn't have a blind spot!" Fishlegs yells out after banging his shield.

We flew towards the ships looking for Toothless. I look over the ships and spot a black dragon thrashing around trying to escape from his bindings. "Hiccup there!" I say as we fly towards him. I land Amenyx down and Hiccup and I jump off pulling the restraints off of Toothless. "Go help the others!" Hiccup yells up to Astrid. She nods and takes off to help fight the queen. Amenyx had to get off the boat leaving Hiccup and I to free Toothless.

The queen made a roar and swung her tail around hitting the masts of the ships knocking them over. I jumped out of the way pushing Hiccup to avoid a burning mast. The ship started to sink taking us down. Toothless started to fall to the bottom still trying to break free. Hiccup and I swam down trying to pry the bars off of him. Hiccup slowly stopped moving. I looked over to see his eyes closed. My eyes widened and I swam to him pulling him up to the shore.

As we were going up I saw Stoic dive in and glimpse at us briefly before diving down deeper to Toothless. I pulled Hiccup onto the shore and pumped his chest a bit until he coughed up water. The next thing we knew Toothless launches out of the water with Stoic. Toothless perches on a rock looking back at us. "You got it bud" Hiccup says as he runs and jumps onto Toothless. I hop onto Amenyx and hover above the chief and his son. As Hiccup was strapping himself into the saddle Stoic walked up to him and grabbed his arm. "Hiccup" He says looking into his sons eyes. "I'm sorry.... f-for everything" He says solemnly. "Ya me to" Hiccup says back.

"You don't have to go up there" Stoic says. "We're Vikings it's an occupational hazard" He says with a smirk. "I am proud to call you my son" Stoic says letting Hiccups arm go. With one last look Hiccup takes off on Toothless. I look down at our chief. "I am also sorry to you Kit" He says looking at me softly. "I forgave you the second it was over Stoic. It is hard to change ones ways when they have been born and breed to their habits their whole lives. I will do what I can to protect Hiccup as I will to any dragon. I was the one who introduced Hiccup to dragon riding so I am also sorry for making things so complicated" I tell him with a smile. I pull the wrapping off of my shoulder and look to see it completely healed.

"Besides I am apparently a queen to dragons so it wouldn't be to smart to die when my dragon kin need me" I smirk and and wink at him. With that I take off into the sky hearing him chuckling. Amenyx and I start flying towards the giant dragon only to see Astrid falling. Amenyx sped up and caught the girl. "Did you get her girl?" I ask as Amenyx looks down and smiles at Astrid. We fly low to the ground and flip Astrid letting her land on the ground as we flew off to help Hiccup. I looked at the dragon as I flew around it. "Hiccup! Look at her sides!" I yell to the boy.

"That thing has wings! Lets see if it can use them!" He says as he maneuvers Toothless to fly into the sky. They then dived down and sent out a large plasma blast knocking the giant dragon over onto her side. She then extended her wing and started to rise up into the air. "You think that did it?" Hiccup asks as he looks behind them to see the giant dragon following them in the air. Hiccup flew off with the giant dragon following close behind. I stayed close to the ground waiting for what ever Hiccup had planned. We saw lights going off in the clouds like thunder. Then we saw a big flash of fire in the air.

Hiccup started to come down with the dragon following very close behind. Hiccup turned around and shot a blast into the dragons open mouth. The dragon couldn't blast any fire out. Hiccup then turned again. Toothless opened his wings and as they arrived close to the ground. The big dragon tried to do the same but crashed into the ground clowing up. I coaxed Amenyx to go higher in the air and as close as we could without being burned. I watched as Hiccup and Toothless flew around the spikes of the dragon as the fire consumed the dead dragon. I saw the tail fin that Hiccup and I worked on fall off and watched in terror as they flew into the dragons tail.

Hiccup fell off of Toothless falling towards the fire. I kicked Amenyx into high gear rushing towards the falling boy. Toothless got to him first grabbing the boy and hugging him. My hair started to grow and turn into giant wings bigger then I have ever had them. I wrapped them around both dragons and the boy. I wiggled close to the boy who was knocked unconscious. I winced and screamed as I felt the fire trying to eat away at my wings and feeling the rocks that we crashed into. Amenyx wrapped herself around me trying to comfort me as I was in pain. I lost consciousness and saw my wings turn back to hair leaving us exposed.
Then the world was black.
