The silent kitten

Chapter 5

Ruffnut's pov

I was helping my brother Tuffnut explain the Thorston family history to Astrid and Fishlegs. After a while I realized that Kit wasn't standing with us anymore. I looked around to find her slinking towards Hiccup who had his back turned towards her. I pushed my brother and pointed towards Kit, the rest of the group watched as well. I saw she get down on her hands stalking closer. She seriously look like a cat. She has always done this, slink around like a cat heck she even act like one if you rubbed her cheek. She also have this little purring sound she makes when that happens. I always do it randomly when she reads to us.

We watched Kit sneak up behind Hiccup. Heck Gobber was watching as well and Hiccup wasn't even paying attention. Kit finally pounced on him making him yell out. The rest of us started laughing really hard it was really funny. Even Snotlout was laughing, apparently he had finally woke up from when Kit knocked him out. Kit was sitting on Hiccups back looking down at him with the signature prank smile that Tuff and I have when we pull off pranks.

"I'm so proud of her" Tuff and I say at the same time. We look at each other and smile. We ran over to Kit and Hiccup. We tackle Kit off of Hiccup. As we are holding her up we are laughing and congratulating her on her perfect hunt.

Kit's pov

I was sitting on Hiccups back looking down at him. "Hi, I'm Kit!" I say with a chuckle. He looks at me surprised. "Wha----" I put my finger on my lips and shhh him. I then get tackled by the twins. We are all laughing as they lift me up in their arms. They kept saying "Good hunt" and "You got him good" They finally let me down. I smile up at Hiccup with a knowing smile. "Well now that that is out of the way why don't you introduce yourself lil lassie" Gobber says.

"Hi I am Kitten Thorston, but I go by Kit. Call me Kitten and I'll nail you to the great hall. I am the youngest of the triplets. And yes Ruff, Tuff and I are triplets. It's just that Ruff and Tuff look identical and I look like.... well me" I say to the whole group this time. "Well I am Gobber blacksmith and Viking of Berk. Now a question that most of us are wondering is where have you been all this time?" Gobber asks.

"Like I told Astrid and Fishlegs earlier when I came out after my brother and sister my mother considered me to be the Thorston family jewel and that I should be protected and nurtured. So she locked me up in our house never to see or meet the people of my own home. I decided that I had had enough and left the house with my siblings and decided to become a real Berkian today instead of rotting in our house" I tell them all solemnly. "Oh so your the rare birth in the family and your mother wanted to protect you but she became a lil to overprotective of you" Gobber says with a slight chuckle.

"Well welcome to dragon training school and I recommend you going to see Stoic our chief while you are out. Just so he knows that you are a Berkian doesn't try to maul you later" Gobber says as he started waddling over to a giant door. He starts listing off all of the dragons that are behind the doors. He gets to the last door "An here is the Gronkle" He goes to open the door. "Wait aren't you going to teach us first?!" Snotlout says a little panicked. "I believe on leveling on the job" Gobber says as he pulls the lever releasing the Gronkle from its door.

The Gronkle burst through growling and flying forward. We all dodge out of the way as the Gronkle runs into the wall. It falls down then scoops up rocks and eats them. "Quick what is the first thing your goin to need?" Gobber asks. "A doctor?" Hiccup says scared. "Plus five speed?" Fishlegs says. " A shield" Astrid and I say at the same time. We give a small smile to each other. "Shield GO!" Gobber yells out. We all run to grab Shields. I grab one and strap it to my back.

"The most important piece of equipment is your shield. You must make a decision between a sword and a shield. Take the shield" Gobber says as he helps Hiccup put a shield on his arm. The twins run over to the shields and grab the same one and start to fight over it. "Get your hands of my shield" Tuff says. "There are like a million shields" Ruff says back. "Take that one it has a flower on it. Girls like flowers" Tuff retorts. Ruff grabbed the shield and bangs it on Tuffs head. "Oops now this one has blood on it" Ruff replies snidely.

They continue to to fight over the shield and not even realizing that the Gronkle was heading towards them until the Gronkle sends a lava blast at them knocking the shield out of their hands. "Tuffnut, Ruffnut your out!" Gobber says as the twins lay on the ground. "Those shields are good for another thing.... noise" Gobber says while everyone else bangs on their shields. I just stand to the side watching and waiting. "Make lots of it to throw off their aim" Gobber says as the Gronkle starts to wobble around shaking its head.

"All dragons have a limited number of shots. How many does a Gronkle have?" Gobber asks as they keep distracting the dragon with their shields. "Five?" Snotlout asks. "No six!!" Fishlegs and I say at the same time. "Right there are six that means one for each of you!" Gobber yells out. "I really don't a---aaagghhh!!!" The Gronkle shot the shield away from Fishlegs. "Fishlegs out!" Gobber yells as Fishlegs runs away screaming. I look over to see Hiccup hiding behind a rack of weapons. "Hiccup get in there!" Gobber yells at him as the Gronkle sends a blast next to him causing him to duck back behind the rack.

The Gronkle looks around and heads towards Snotlout and Astrid. "So anyway I'm moving into my parents basement. You should come by sometime to work out. You look like you work out! AGH!" The shield got nocked off of Snotlouts arm. "Snotlout your done!" Gobber calls out. Astrid was standing ready to dodge and Hiccup walks up to her. "So I guess its just you and me huh?" Hiccup says looking a little awkward. "Nope just you!" Astrid says as she runs away from Hiccup. A blast knocks Hiccups shield away. "AGH!" he yells. "One shot left" Gobber calls out. Hiccup starts to chase his shield that is rolling away from him. The Gronkle was heading straight for him. 'Hiccup!!!" Gobber calls out to him.

I start running towards Hiccup and the dragon. The dragon gets him trapped against the wall. The Gronkle starts to open its mouth to shoot its blast. I jump and land on the Gronkles nose while pushing it to the side letting the blast go on the wall away from Hiccup. I look into the dragons eyes and give a little growl moving my hand up to between its eyes. It whimpers and lands on the ground just staring at me. I climb down still staring at the Gronkle. I slide my hand into its mouth and pull it towards its door. We finally get to the door and I look to the door and the dragon walks in and lays down.

I shut the door afterwards and turn around. I jump a little when I see everyone staring at me. Even my brother and sister were staring at me. "How did you do that?" Fishlegs is the first to speak. "I gave the dragon my 'don't mess with me I'm not in the mood' look that I normally use on my siblings. I thought it might work.... and well it did" I say a little unsure of what to say. "Oh ya, that stare normally scares us so much we can't leave our rooms for almost a day" Tuffnut says as he walks up to me. "Ya the worst time was when mom did nonstop dress up for 4 days and we wanted to mess around with her. She gave us that look and we didn't leave our rooms for a week that's how scared we were" Ruffnut says as she came over and looked at me.

"If you don't stop staring I'll punch you" I state irritably. She flinches and steps back a little. "Now that's something you don't see everyday" Astrid says "We normally never get to shut those two up and you did it in less then a minute" Snotlout says as he slides up to me and winks at me. I look at him and my eyes start to give him the stare. He whimpers and scampers away and hides behind Fishlegs. "She is so scary" I hear him mutter to himself.

"Ya my little sister is really scary. She scared me really bad one time when I pulled her hair and I literally wet myself. Ya full leakage in the pants" Tuff says. Everyone stares at him in disgust. "Nobody needs to know that bro" I say rubbing my head. "Well like I said earlier why don't you go find Stoic and introduce yourself and I'll see you all tomorrow for school" Gobber says as he starts to waddle out of the academy.
