Chapter 26

"Come on slow pokes!" I shout at them. "Last one back to the cove is a rotten dragons egg" I say as we all line up heading back to berk. "Your on!" Amenyx says. "Amenyx is in what about you boys?" I ask. The boys look at each other and both grin and nod at me. "Ok ready... set.....GO!!!!!!!!" I shout as we all jet forward towards the cove.

We all dodge and spin around the rock fissures again. We propel ourselves forward heading for the cove. I pulled ahead of them and kept going till I saw the cove. I dived down and opened my wings at the last second and tried to land. Key word being tried. I tumbled really bad when landing causing me to roll into a ball and crash into the pond. I come up to the surface to see Toothless and Amenyx land softly and swiftly.

"You guys are rotten dragon eggs!!" I yell with a smile as I swim towards the edge of the pond. "Here" I hear Hiccup say. I look up to see him holding his hand out to me. "Thanks" I say as I grab his hand and pull him into the pond with me. "Hey!" He yelled before he was submerged in the water. "Hahahaha I got you!" I laugh when he came up. "Not funny" He shouts and splashes me.

I gasp and look at him. "OH now you've done it" I say and tackle him into the water. We went down into the water wrestling each other. I looked at him and saw that he needed to breath so I push him up to the surface. I came up behind him as he gasped breathing in the air. When he caught his breath again I waited till he took a breath then tackled him again.

When I opened my eyes and looked at Hiccup he looked shocked and something else. I couldn't tell what though. He slowly lifted his hand up and caressed my cheek softly. He continued to look at me with this look that I couldn't figure out. It looked like he was longing for something. I cock my head to the side pushing my cheek into his hand more. He started to look a little blue. I realized that he needed air and pulled his hand away from my cheek.

I pushed us up to the surface. I pulled Hiccup to the edge and brought him out on the shore. "Are you ok Hiccup?" I ask worriedly. I was moving my hair out of my face so that I could look at him and saw that he wasn't breathing. My eyes busted open. "HICCUP!!!!!!!!" I scream and shake him. He doesn't flinch. I put my ear to his chest. His heartbeat was so soft and slow that if he doesn't get any air now he was going to die.

I put my ear to his mouth and listen to hear that he wasn't breathing at all. I look at Hiccup and grab his face. I closed his nose and placed my mouth on his breathing air into his lungs. I pulled away and pump his chest a few times and go to blow more air into his lungs. I repeat this a couple of times until I go to blow more air into his lungs again only to get a mouthful of water. I spit it out and look at a coughing Hiccup.

My eyes start to tear up as he looks up to me. "What happ---" He starts to say before I lunge myself at him and hug him. I was crying into his chest and shaking really badly. "Hey what's wrong Kit? I'm ok look at me" He says and pulls my face up to look at me. He swipes his finger under my eye wiping away my tears.

"You wern't breathing! And your heart beat was almost gone! I thought I was gonna to lose you!" I cry out very upset that he wasn't as shaken up as I was. "I mean what would I have done if you had died? Your my best friend Hiccup I wouldn't be able to function right without you" I continued to cry out. I was really upset. He frowned and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm sorry Kit. I wouldn't want to leave you like that. Please don't cry" He says as his grip tightens around me. I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him closer. "Don't scare me like that again. You hear me Hic?" I say snuggling my face into his chest. His chest rumbles from his chuckle. God I love that chuckle so dorky but cute. I blush at my thought.
