Chapter 11

We arrived at the academy to see a big maze set up. "Ooooook. This might not be so fun today" I remarked upon seeing the big wooden walls. "Ya you can say that again" Hiccup says as he walks up to Gobber. I slowly follow him keeping a wary eye on Gobber. I don't know how to react around anybody yet after last night.

"Well will ya looky here the dragon girl is going to continue to come to class!" Gobber says with a chuckle and lifts me up in a hug. "EEEPPPP!!!!!" I squeaked out. Gobber put me back down and ruffled my hair. "I don't care if you got dragon blood in ya girl. All I care about is if you will help defend our village when it needs defending" Gobber says and slaps my back. And he slapped hard.

I look up at Gobber. "I plan on being here for my family and friends when they need me" I state rolling my shoulder. The rest of the group finally arrived and I got tackled by the 'twins'. I still can't get use to that but it'll eventually stick. "We were so worried!!!!!" Tuff yells in my face. "Ya! And mom and dad didn't go to sleep at all, they were pacing all night worrying about you!" Ruff yells at me.

"I'm sorry you guys" I tell them looking down at the ground. "I just couldn't think straight. I had to get away from everyone and think to myself about what mom and dad told me" I look up at them with a sad look. "I just wanted friends and to be free like you guys so much that I never stopped to think that something like this is what made me be locked up all my life" I hug myself and curl my legs up to my chest.

"All night I kept thinking that you guys would hate me. That you would shun me. That I would have had to leave and never see you all again" I started to cry. "I was so scared!" I whimper out. I felt a lot of arms circle me. I look up through my tears to see my siblings hug me and the rest of the group hugging us. When they pulled away Ruff wiped my tears away. "I could never hate you sis. I mean come on that would leave me with Tuffnut and trust me I would kill him if you weren't around to keep me sane" She ended her statement by pointing at Tuffnut who looked insulted.

"Wait Ruffnut can be sane?" Snotlout asks bewildered. I couldn't help it I started to laugh. "Thanks sis. I just couldn't think straight with what we were told" My smile turned to a frown. "But why are you guys being so nice to me? I have dragon blood in me and I am looking more like a dragon every day I am out here doing stuff" I ask a little scared of what they might say.

"Well ya I was a little freaked out when we found out, but the way you handled yourself in class yesterday and saving Hiccup. Well I just knew that even though you may be part dragon you are still a Viking from Berk. So I trust that you will still hang with us and train" Astrid says as she hefts her battle axe. "Ya and you are really pretty. If I can't get with Astrid then I would like to get with you cause I do not want to be with your sister. No offense." Snot lout says and looks at Ruffnut at the end of his statement. "None taken. I wouldn't date you anyways" Ruff says with her sneer in place.

I chuckled as Fishlegs comes up to me. "That and your the only one who knows the book as well as me and you aren't mean to me like some of the others" He says shyly. I giggle and put my hand on his arm. "It's ok Fishlegs. Your intelligent and sweet. You just need to find some proper things to talk about with them that will actually intrigue them. Then again I am the only person that has ever been able to get my siblings to enjoy anything from books" I chuckle looking at my siblings who were looking around with a blush on their faces.

"You can't prove that! And I never learned anything from you reading to us!" Tuffnut yells out while crossing his arms. "Ya!" Ruffnut says not able to come up with anything to say. We all chuckled at the twins. "Well now that we got all this mush out the way" Gobber starts as he waddles to the weapon racks. "It's time for today's lesson. Pick a weapon and shield and go into the maze. Today's dragon is the Deadlynadder!" He finishes as he walks away. "If you here a whistle that means the dragon is loose!" He says as he disappears into the maze.

Everyone went to the racks and got weapons and shields. I just stood in the start of the maze and looked in. I turn and see Hiccup having trouble putting his shield on. "Here" I say as I heft the shield onto his arm. "Thanks" He says nervously. "Don't worry Hiccup you will be fine" I tell him as I hand him a battle axe. "Come on into the maze we go" I tell him dragging him into the maze. "W-wait! Aren't you going to grab a shield and weapon?!" He says in alarm.

"I'll be fine don't worry about me" I tell him as we head into the maze the others following us. Everyone started going their own ways, but I stuck with Hiccup just following him. There was a loud whistle. "Sounds like Gobber let the dragon out of the bag" I say quietly. "Great time to make a fool of myself again" Hiccup mutters under his breath. I heard him and sent him a glare. He looked at me confused. "Wait did you hear that?" "Yes Hiccup I did thanks to my dragon blood I have amazing hearing" I tell him as I push him forward.
