Chapter 9

Hiccups pov

I was walking home to the chiefs house planning on reading the book so that I was prepared to answer Kits questions. When I got home I called out to my dad. "Hey dad, I home!" I yell out. I got no reply back. I turn to shut the door but stop. The academy gang was rushing by heading somewhere in a hurry. I toss the book on the couch and head out after them.

I run to catch up and see the whole village standing in front of the twins house.. or should I say the triplets house? I walk up seeing Kit standing in front of her parents with her brother and sister standing on either side of her. She was telling her parents that it was time that they tell her why they locked her up her whole life. Now I was really curious.

I walk up and stand next to my dad who was standing there clearly confused on what to do. I look at Kit and listen the story that her parents were telling. "----gave the dragon a deep gash and it fell on top of you. I thought it crushed you. The dragon then groaned and wobbled up looked at you then at me and flew away. I then rushed to you to see that your cut was healing really fast and you were covered in the dragons blood. You use to look just like your siblings but after that night you started to change your eyes turned so green. Your hair turned black as night and your skin paled" Her mother finished.

She looked at her parents with a shocked expression. She then looked around at all of the villagers. Her eyes landed on me and I could see her pleading expression. She didn't know what to do. She looked really lost. I wanted to walk up to her and hug he-- wait what? Did I really start to think that? I scold myself I like Astrid! I look up again to see Kit running off.

"Kit!" Ruff and Tuff called out. Their parents looked really upset. I looked at everyone else to see that they were shocked at what they heard. I look up at my dad. "What's goin to happen now dad?" I ask him as he runs a hand down his face. "I don't know son. But she is a viking born here in Berk so she will trained with the rest of you so that she can put her part forward" My dad said as he looked in the direction where Kit ran off to.

"I'm going to look for my sister!" Ruffnut said as she starts to run off after Kit. "Oh no you don't!" Their mother stopped her."Why?!" The twins yell. "Because she needs time to herself to think. It's not everyday you find out that you have dragon blood running through you" Their dad says before ushering them into their home. "She will return when she is ready for now we need to give her some space" He says as he gets them inside. "Good night everyone" He calls out before the door closes.

"Well I never saw that coming!" Gobber says as he pops up beside my dad and I. "What do you mean Gobber?" My dad asks. Oh ya he didn't know that she was at our classes today. Everyone started to head home for the night. "Well the little lassie was really good in class today she got a Gronkle back in its cage and saved your sons hide in the process!" Gobber states proudly. My dad looks at me for confirmation. I nod my head a little ashamed that I was saved by a girl today.

"But that would explain her eyes today though" Gobber says as he rubs his chin. "What about her eyes?" My dad and I ask at the same time. "When she jumped onto the Gronkles head letting off the last blast her eyes looked like they slitted and the white dissapeared" Gobber replies while pulling on his mustache.

"So the dragon blood really altered her body. And as she grew up the dragon blood changed some of her genes so as to leave her human, but with a lot of enhanced functions" I say as I ponder the results of the night her parents just explained to us. My dad puts his hand up to his chin thinking. "Hiccup I want you to keep an eye on her outside of the academy, Gobber I want you to watch her while your teaching. I want you both to report what you find to me every few day. Got it?"

"Got it Stoic" Gobber replies while I just nod my head. "Good now go home and go to sleep the both of you" My dad says as he starts to head home. I watch him get to our house and go inside. I look at Gobber and he waves to me as he heads home. "Don't stay out to late looking for the little lassie now Hiccup. You have class in the morning" Gobber says over his shoulder.

After he is out of site I turn and run to the forest. I think I know exactly where she ran off to. I start navigating the forest till I get to the cove. I look in and see that dragon I shot looking off to the side. I looked around and didn't see the other dragon. Did she..? She couldn't have.... could she?

I sat down by a tree and huddled into the hole in the side. I sat there and waited. Eventually I fell asleep. I awoke to a sound and looked around. I saw the other dragon.... what was her name.... Amenyx? Then I saw Kit. Kit was sitting on... the back.... of the.... dragon?! She looked a lot more calm now then she did before.

I made my way down into the cove. Lets hope that I can bring her back in a good mood. As I climb down I hear her making noises at the two dragons. The dragons then made some sounds and were walking around Kit. I stopped and watched what they were doing. The dragon named Amenyx then stopped in front of Kit and put her head to Kits in what looked like a kiss to the forehead.

I finish climbing down and walk towards the girl who looked like she was comunicating with the dragons. When I got close enough I put my hand on her shoulder. She tensed up and slowly looked at me. I could see what Gobber meant by the eyes now. They were in slits and the white was gone. When she recognized that it was me her eyes went back to normal. Wow a dragon girl. She is beautiful. Wait what?
