I wanted it before we move on and move into the other chapters I want to just take a time out with this chapter and discuss about partners. So when you start to make money with your new business it will attract to the attention of others around you.

Some people may even want to partner with you. This could be your sister in law your brother your roommate your cousin your friend whoever it is. People will want to partner with you. They think they might be able to bring something to the table no matter how tempting or how great it may seem.

Stay true to your business and what I lay out for you in this book is all that you need to but model your business off of. So you have a working business model by the time you go through this book and you can stay true to it.

It's important however that as you avoid partnerships that you form a team of people working for you. This is much different than having people work with you or making money together. This is people helping you make more money and your pain them in turn for their work that they perform.

So it's a much more leverage position to be in. However it's important that you're not in business by yourself. So the solution instead of having a business partner is to have what I call a strategic accountability partner.

This is a partner that is not related to your business in any way in other words you're not making money directly together and you might have similar businesses at least in some with similar industries so that you can understand one another's business.

The goal is to meet regularly face to face or via Skype or whatever you can. And the goal is to keep each other moving forward and keep things that you would discuss about would be key challenges that you're facing. Setting up a weekly goal and also sharing any insights or tips now key challenges is great because I haven't in an ability partner you can share these challenges which are that you're facing and you can bounce them off of somebody else and they might have experience or some insight that can help you also by setting a weekly goal you know that whenever you meet again on Monday morning or Friday morning whatever it is that you have your weekly meeting you know that there is this one action item that you have to get done before you see them again.

It's a great way to keep you accountable and keep you moving forward in your business. Also it's a great opportunity to share any insights or tips as a business owner you're going to have a lot of decisions to make with software should I use what apps should I use. What do I do with this employee?

How I do payroll? how do I handle certain situation and payroll stuff like that. And it's great to be able to share anything that you learn or any tips that you get with your accountability partner. Also you may consider joining a mastermind group. This is basically the same thing as an accountability partner but it's a group of business owners generally their monthly meetings of CEOs and business owners who help me to help each other to move forward. It's the same thing said these are much more formal and with organizations that are out there.

You might even search your own but the organizations that are out there there's a lot of great ones. The catch is that they can be a little pricey. So again you get what you pay for. It's a great way to keep yourself moving forward and at the challenge of your ex at the beginning of your business it might be a little bit of a challenge but they can they work wonders when you're meeting with 10 or 20 or in a group of 25 other CEOs or business owners that have similar businesses as yours.

OK.

Having a strategic partner or group will help you move forward in your business without the added complication and strain of an employee or business partner relationship and that's really important when in Guards to taking forward action with your business. Coming up will learn how to form a team of people. Like I already mentioned that are all working for you and this puts you in a much more leverage position than if you were to take on a partner. It's better to keep full control of your business and grow your team as needed. So that's it for this chapter.

We will continue with the mental stuff.
