In this chapter how to setup a Website for your business in the real world. It's time to set it up online. And this all starts with your web site your web site is a digital representation of your business.

So we're not supposed to judge a book by the cover but we do and when people are online make no mistake people will judge your business by your website especially if they're looking to you to build their Website for their business and then handle their online marketing. They got to have a great online presence and there are a few steps to get rolling with your web site.

But first you need to buy a domain. The domain is the virtual address of your Website it's the www.your businessname.com; thing and you can use a domain registrar like Godaddy to register your domain name. And ideally you're going to get a domain with extension .com. If you can't get your exact business same with a .com you can consider using a .net or a .co and you can also consider using a hyphen if you have a two word business.

You could do www.blues-express.com. But if that's the case you're going to want to check how what that blues express without the hyphen .com and you want to make sure that you're not stepping on anybody else's toes. So if the dot com is taken you can't go.

You can check out who owns it which you can do is go to who is dot net and see the details of the domain that you wish to get. Many times people are just squatting on their domain and they're willing to sell it. So that's definitely something you can be sure if the dot.com is taken. Don't be discouraged. Just go check it out.

Approach the owner of the domain and see if they'd be willing to sell. Also if you use a service like Go Daddy be sure to skip over all of the cells. You don't need any of them. Just keep skipping forward until you check out. And here's a big tip when you get to the checkout page. Be sure to enter a coupon code. There is always a discount coupon you can get.

I've purchased domains for literally 99 cents so just do a search for GoDaddy domain coupon. Never ever pay full price for a domain. So once you have your domain in place you will want to get hosting many domain registrars like Godaddy also offer hosting but it's been my experience that a dedicated hosting company often works better to come to me that we've had great experience with our host gator and blue host and both. In fact they're owned by the same company.

Both have great technical support and they say that they have 99.9% uptime which is great when considering it's your business. When everything you have is online you want to make sure that you have a great host. So both hosts also are very WordPress friendly and we're going to discuss about that in just a minute. But you should select a plan that allows for unlimited hosting.

This will generally cost about five to eight dollars a month. It's really affordable and again when you're checking out be sure to go out online and check and search for coupons. So for example if you're going to use host gator go out and search for host gator hosting coupons something like that and you can go off and sign up for two or three dollars and get a deal for two or three dollars a month for a year or something like that. And even if you're paying full price it's going to be around seven or eight dollars on the high end. It's nothing that's going to break the bank for sure. One key benefit about having your own domain and your own hosting is that you will be able to have your own business e-mail your own company e-mail. It will look something like your name and your business name dot com.

So this not only helps to build your overall brand but it also looks much more professional than your own personal e-mail. You know the one where it says something like your name54@hotmail.com. That just doesn't look professional and when you're sending down a proposal let's say for $18000 to somebody you want to have everything looking as sharp and professional as possible. So with your own e-mail you can then use a service like Outlook or Gmail for your actual everyday e-mailing.
