In this chapter we're going to discuss about identifying your potential clientele. And this is one that is dear to me because this is going to save you a lot of time and a lot of frustration. You can identify your clientele right out of the gate you can be head and shoulders above the rest.
So at first when you're first starting out you're going to be tempted to work with everyone really. Once people find out that you have an online marketing business you will be amazed at how many people need help with something online.
You will quickly see how big the concept of online marketing really is and why you should. And more importantly you're going to see why you need to niche down. For example someone will want to help making a five page web site. Somebody else is going to ask you for your how to manage bad reviews that they got on you hope somebody else is going to ask you to put help them put photos up with their pet grooming business on Pinterest and another person might ask you to help get their business ranked on page 1 of Google.
But I think you get the picture. The solution is to go into a specific niche and you can do this primarily in two ways. The first way is to focus on a particular industry. And then I've discussed about this already in a few of the past chapters I know that's how important finding your ideal clientele really is.
Maybe you have some experience working in a dental office and you know what they need. You can focus your entire business on catering only to dentists. This gives you the advantage of being able to speak the language in your sales and marketing efforts and it also helps you ful-fill your services better because you just plain know the industry.
The second way to niche is by service as an example you could focus in on building web sites for example and only doing video marketing or only doing social media management. BI When you managed them by service you're able to really know your industry.
And then of book provide the best services possible you're going to have the most expertise. Also what this is going to do is it's going to set you up to work with others with complimentary services. So for example maybe you choose to focus in on SEO. You could partner with a company that does content marketing or social media and you will also be able to throw referrals to each other which is a great bonus.
You can even combine the ways to niche you could easily create a business that creates and market YouTube videos for carpet cleaners all around the country or like I used in the past in example they used in their packs past chapter you could do video marketing or ex-CEO strictly for doctors or you could do video marketing for real estate professionals.
It doesn't matter if you can combine the services that you offer with the particular industry that you are working. Then you get down twice and that's going to help you get a big head start. In my experience the more that you can get down the faster that the faster you will be able to make your for sale.
Additionally you will be able to provide a better service. This creates happy clients and in turn they're going to send more business to you. Online Marketing is deceptively big. You're going to quickly choke if you tried to be everything to everyone you can't be that Pinterest person while being the SEO person while being the web site design person.
Even if you have a person in your company that handles each one that you might be in a great way to do it there will be down the line once you get bigger in which you're able to grow your team. But starting out I'm discussing about baby steps right now and when you're just starting off you want a niche down again either by service or by industry or by both what you can do is start off with a small edge and then build out from there once you know your particular niche.
You can always add more services or add more industries as you go along. Let's say you start off with just medical professionals doctors specifically then you can branch out and get orthodontists and you could get dentists and you can get other professionals then you can branch out from there and you can see how that works. So let me just quickly repeat something because it's really this important.
You must stay true to your niche and screen clients from the very beginning if not your growth as a as a company will drastically be slowed and you're just plain going to go crazy trying to learn and be proficient in each and every niche online. So be true to your niche.
Be true to your services and it may seem like you're walking away from money at the beginning. If you turn away clients but in reality it will drastically affect your ability to get new. Even better qualified clients. And in turn grow your business faster. Trust me I know from experience.
I've sat in so many different coffee shops discussing to people asking them questions learning about the business to find out. They're not quite exactly a perfect fit for what I was offering so it'll save you a lot of time being true to your niche screen client and your business will thank you for it because it will grow a lot faster.
