In this chapter we're going to discuss about setting up your social media platforms with your website in place. You've got the beginning of your online presence and it's your hub and by far your website is most important. But it's also important to make sure that you set up your business in all the other online platforms.

So at a minimum you should choose to set up the following. A YOUTUBE CHANNEL a Google Plus page Facebook page, a Twitter account and LinkedIn profile. Also same thing you need to have a business page on linked and not just your own personal profile and Pinterest and if you choose Instagram especially if your business is very visual like a hair salon for example.

So fill out all of the platforms. As with as much information as you can anywhere where there is you where you have an ability to put text do so put any Macklin's you can. All of these platforms have a place to provide a back to your main web site. Also inter-linked to your other online platforms like Link your Facebook page to your Twitter page link your Twitter to your Facebook LinkedIn Twitter or to your YouTube and so forth and that way you start building your own little mini network of Web sites that are all your own properties.

There are probably about seven hundred and fifty eight other platforms and more every day it seems. But these are definitely the ones that you want to get set up on first. So again let me go back where that last real fast jujube channel. Google Plus, Facebook business page Twitter linked in the business page and Pinterest. These are the most important.

Usually just involves when you are setting these up it usually just involves a listing of all your comfy information and adding your company logo. Like I said be sure to be as detailed as you can in all of the platforms fill out every field and every image you can follow every step and a hot tip. You get to make things faster or you can even outsource this step of the way too. In fact when you go to places like five or Otis you can get this done for relatively inexpensive.

Be sure to set up everything. All the other online platforms like your social media platforms. And with that we will move on to keeping everything digital. But there's one off line tool that you can use and we will cover that in the next chapter. Keep It All Digital, but You Can Have Business Cards Hello and this chapter we're going to cover keeping it all digital. But you can't have business cards. So to tell you a little story around nine years ago I wanted to start a little business out of my home and I did everything that I thought I was supposed to do I worked with the designer to create a business card.

Three weeks later and after spending something around 165 dollars I got my first order of a thousand business cards. I was so proud. I got the box in the mail. Opened it up and saw my car. Then I proceeded to buy pens with my business name on them. Then I bought I bought a printer and a copier. I even bought a $300 fax machine really.

I didn't make a dime with the business and I wasted a ton of time and money in the process. So as we've already covered there's very little you actually have to buy to start this business. When you think about it you have an on line business. It makes sense then that most of your business marketing is also online.

And one of my goals is to help you get to money making quickly and not money spending. Ideally not spending a lot of money to get started. And with that said there is one and only one off line or a physical tool that will serve you well and that is your business card. Vistaprint.com is a great place to get business cards. They have ridiculously cheap prices on high quality cards and in fact be sure just like with the domain or hosting anything that you buy online.

Be sure to search for a kit a coupon code and that will help you save even more money. At this point don't spend any more than $20 tops for your first round of cards. The reason for that is because you're going to him. You will get your cards and as your business evolves probably pretty quickly after you get going with some first paying client you will.

You might want to make some changes to your card so just get a minimum order of something like 250 or 500 cards just to get started. Don't spend any more than $20. You do want to spend some time looking at other business cards business cards you may already have lying around the house or the office in them. When you use a service like Vistaprint.com they already have countless professionally designed templates that you can use.

All you have to do is simply pop in your logo on your business information. Change the colours to match your own. And then you can proof the card immediately right there on line. Then all you have to do is select how many you want and then you're good to go. And this is all really that you need to get started.

In fact I use Vistaprint.com when I first got started. I used a template I plugged in my logo changed it to my colours and I haven't changed my business card since. So it's really all that you all need to get started. You don't have to spend a lot of time working with a graphic designer to create the most beautiful card and you don't have to spend a lot of money on super fancy cars.

People do throw them away so if you're spending a lot of money on things superstate cardstock. It's just kind of a waste of money. You don't have to get the bare minimum or excuse me the thinness card there is but just get a basic car that's all you need. If you have a great logo and a great company name and some good colours that's going to be much more important than what material your business card has made out of. You might like I mentioned you might change your business card as you go and you might get a different number.

You might get a Google number or a Skype number you want to make sure that first when you first print your card get just a minimum order something like 250 or 500 cards. Again like I said just to save you a little bit of money. Be sure to search for a coupon code when checking out Vistaprint.com is like all the others they have received either coupons all the time. You can get half off or 90% off or whatever.

So just a word of warning. Companies like Vistaprint.com are going to tempt you with cells. They're going to show you other products like pens and stationery and car magnets and coffee mugs and so on and all they're going to put all your pretty logo right there front and centre.

So we're going to show you right away what your coffee mug will look like with your logo on it. Resist the temptation. You don't need any of that stuff you just don't. The only physical product that you need is a business card. I know it's exciting to have your own business and drinking out of your own custom company. Coffee mug is super tempting but at this point you're trying to grow your own business and not their business so stick to your business cards and check out everything else.

Right now at this point at least is a waste of money. In fact you will most likely never use any of that material again. The pens are tempting but you will never really use that. So I think it beat the business card aspect to death. Get business cards but you don't need any other physical products at this point in your business.
