In this chapter I want to discuss and share with you how to get more sales. So this is going to sound somewhat ironic with an online marketing company but you're going to go off line with your own online marketing company generating leads for you know what you need to do is kick it up a notch.
And this happens. By getting out there and interacting with other real human beings. So first of all you're going to do this all on yourself first and then you're going to refine the process. So remember your sales manual here you're going to track everything you do track the results that you get and then put them in your manual so that your sales team can then duplicate what you did successfully.
You don't want them having to do any trial and error you want to get them the best tools that they can get right away so that they can start closing business. They're excited. You're excited. Your clients are excited and your business is growing.
So at this point also many other how to create a business books and books and everything they're going to tell you all the usual dopey strategies like e-mail marketing and telemarketing and so forth. And I'm just going to give you a little secret. They don't work at least not effectively. They might work with big enough numbers but the reason why they don't work is and I've shared this before but business owners are inundated with so many internet marketing pitches that they don't know who to believe.
They actually just in my experience in my dealing with business owners they usually just tune them out. In fact I have clients that will send me deals or offers that they get from other internet marketing companies even on our own Web site. We get internet marketing people trying to pitch to us and I think did you even read what the Web site was about their entering on our own contact form.
How they can help us with as CEO or help us with content marketing. It's pretty funny actually. So that's why they don't work. So you got to scrap of e-mail marketing you got to scrap telemarketing. And the reason why they just plain don't work. But this is different. Keep in mind this is different from them seeking you out. Like I discussed in the last section of people are coming to you.
Then of book you're going to start an e-mail back and forth.
Or if they e-mail you or if they enter their name and e-mail in your contact form and start the process that way. That's great. That's different. That's not outbound that's inbound. And now of book that's the best marketing that you want. So the best ways to get more sales at least starting out is to do it face to face.
This way the business owner has a chance to see you and he or she gets to know you. And we know that we all do business with people we know like and trust I've said that a few times now and it's true. And here's what I found to be the best forms of new business.
When you're out there selling off line. First of all it's live networking. Second it's speaking and teaching third. It's one on ones and forth. Its referrals and those are in no particular order. But if I had to put them in order I would say referrals are by far the best one on ones are the next best life networking.
And then follow that we're speaking and teaching. So I'm going to go over those four different networking techniques sales techniques in the next coming chapters now and this one and I'll see in the next one.
