The drive to the hotel only takes 15 minutes. I’m excited to see my uncle. I was surprised when I got a message from him telling me he’s already here. I thought it would take a few days for him to fly down but he’s already here and I’m thankful. I’ll have to call dad and thank him for sending uncle Leo cause I haven’t seen him in a year. I park my car then walk to the hotel. The receptionist tells me his room number and I go there. I knock once then the door opens and I see him. He looks so much like my dad. He smiles and pulls me to a hug.
“ Oh Raphael. Tu es devenu si grand ( you have grown so big) ” chuckling.
“ uncle Leo. Je suis si heureux alors à bientôt. Tu m’as manqué ( I’m so happy to see you. I have missed you ) ” I hold him tight and I feel my eyes getting misty.
“ it’s okay I’m here now. Don’t cry son.” He pats my back and I will my tears. “ come in.” I walk in and someone closes the door. “ don’t worry about them. They work with us.” We sit down. There are three men wearing normal clothes. You could never tell they are his bodyguards.
“ Where is Papa? ”
“ he wanted to come himself but then something came up ” I sigh “ hey don’t do that face. He loves you Raphael ”
“ I know. I just wish sometimes he would be here more ”
“ And he wants that more than anything. You know he’s doing this to protect you right? ”
“ I know but that doesn’t make things easier. I also need him ” my uncle sighs.
“ I’m here for you. You know I’m always am. What happened? ”
I tell him the whole story of how I met Jabu and everything that has happened since.
“ She’s young but she has had a very tough life. I’m sorry for what happened to her. Where is she now? ”
“ she’s at the hospital. I think tomorrow or the next day they might discharge her ”
“ From what you’re telling me it looks like she was raped by someone she knows. The same person who has access to the house came and cleaned his mess so there won’t be any of his DNA ”
“ I took her… .torn and bloody underwear. The could be his DNA there ”
“ Piere go to the car and come back with it be careful cause there might be his DNA there ”
“ It’s inside a plastic bag under the passenger seat. ” I give him the keys.
“ Well take it to the lab and see if he’s DNA somehow is there. I’ll also start an investigation about that whole orphanage. Something is not right with place. Tell me though. Who do you suspect? ”
“ I think her friend knows who might have raped her cause the way she kept saying Him like she knows who it is. I asked her and she said she doesn’t know. She made me promise that I won’t force jabu to tell me who violated her ” he seems to think.
“ you need to talk to her and promise her that nothing bad will happen to her when she tells you cause the person might come after her next ”
“ I’ll do that although she hates me. ”
“ persuade her Raphael. When someone gets raped by a person they know usually the person kisses them. So if Jabu was raped by a person she knows. He’s going to come back and try to kill her cause be knows it’s only going to be a matter of time before she tells someone and get caught.” I like the way he says jabu's name. He pronounces it like Jahbuh.
