BROKEN PIECES.

CHAPTER 7| The beginning.

The pills thato gave me knocked me out and I slept pretty well. I thought maybe I will have nightmares but I didn't. I wake up and I'm alone in bed. I don't know what time it is but it is still dark outside. I search for my phone, I find it and the time is 3 am. Where could he be at this time. I pat the bed and his side is cold. Maybe it was too much for him to share the bed with me. I close my eyes and pull the pillow he was sleeping on, on my chest and face then inhale it. I close my eyes and dose off again.

I turn my body and my head lands on a chest. His chest. I open my eyes and I find his on me smiling. When did he come to bed cause I didn't hear him.

" Good morning." he says smiling. Why isn't he at school?.

" Good morning." damn morning breath. I cover my mouth with my hand.

" What are you doing?."

" Why are you not at school?."

" At 5 am?."

" Shouldn't you be getting ready?."

" I will at in thirty minutes. How do you feel?"

" I feel good. I woke up and you were not here. Where did you go to?."

" I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about dlamini hitting you and I got out of bed and went to study. I didn't want to wake you up."

" I'm sorry you couldn't sleep."

" Baby your breath doesn't smell. Move that hand."

" I'm sure I look like a mess."

" It's not that bad. I need you to go to the doctor. Portia will take you just so we can be sure that he didn't do any damages to your face."

" If I go to the doctor they are going to want me to open a case of assault and I don't think I can do that. I'm scared that once the police let him know he will come after me and make my life a living hell."

" Ok baby but you still have to go see a doctor. The one portia will take you to won't ask questions ok and if he does just tell him you got mugged."

" I'll do that."

" Do you have an I.D baby?."

" I do but it's not on me and I'm going to need if for the finals."

" Where is it?."

" In the office where they keep everything." He nods.

" I'm going to shower then we'll have breakfast before I leave."

" I'll make the bed."

" You don't have to get out of bed now relax baby. We'll go to the kitchen together."

" Ok. Have you seen thando?."

" I haven't but I heard her voice. Ii think she's already awake. I'll be back." He gives me a peck on my swollen cheek then leaves the room.

I get up, open the curtain and windows letting some fresh air come in. I notice something on a chair that's on the corner. It's thato's clothes. His track pants, hoodie and sneakers. I frown cause last night he didn't change in here when he went to shower. Did thato leave last night and go somewhere?. I wonder but he if did why would he like unless I didn't see him bring them in I mean it's his room after all.

I make the bed, wear my light gown then sit on the bed and wait for him. He comes back holding his neatly ironed school uniform and puts it on the bed. Is he going to change here?.

" Uhm I'm going to brush my teeth while you change."

" You don't have to leave baby."

" I know. I'm just going to brush them." I don't wait for him to answer. I quickly take my toiletry bag and leave. Brushing my teeth is hard cause I keep hurting myself. I try to be slow too so I won't find thato dressing. A knock comes in.
