I woke up alone in bed. I don’t know when he left cause I found a note on my pillow telling me that he has a very busy day today and if he gets time he’ll see me later before he sleeps. He also told me to use the card he gave me for everything I will need. He gave me the apartment code too and told me he has added my name on the lease and on his banking account so I can be able to pay for an Uber. I was disappointed to wake up alone in bed but I understand. He’s a business man and he has a business to run. I’m having breakfast and busy downloading the Uber app. I want to do most of the thing alone by not depending on him. If the time comes where I’ll need bab' Rocco to drive me then I’ll let him know. For now just to be independent.
My Uber tells me it’s outside. I take my bags and leave. I need a laptop so I can be able to do my assignments or else I will struggle. I lock my apartment, get in the elevator and leave the building. I greet the driver, he asks me where I’m gong and I tell him then be busy on the phone. I send Kwame messages thanking him for everything and looking forward to seeing him later. We arrive at campus, I pay and leave. I see Inga talking to her boyfriend and it looks like they are arguing so I’m going to stay clear so she won’t see me but I’m n so lucky cause when she turns her eyes land on me. She says something to her boyfriend then storms off and meets me halfway.
She’s clearly upset and maybe it has something to do with us going to the club. Maybe Inga told him everything that happened and maybe he’s advising her to stay away from me cause I’m a bad friend cause I got his girlfriend in trouble. Or maybe they could be having a lovers quarrel.
“ Hey Inga ”
“ Hi Jabs. How was your day yesterday? ”
“ It was okay. How was yours? ”
“ Well I fought with Musa about where I was cause apparently he came and found the flat empty.” I guess Musa is her boyfriend cause when we met she never said his name.
“ He’s worried about what happened Inga ” she looks away. “ you did tell him what happened right? ”
“ Well I sort of didn’t. I don’t want him to worry about nothing ”
“ Lying to your boyfriend and keeping things is not a good idea Inga ”
“ I know Jabs okay. I just said we spent the night at your man’s house cause we were too drunk to be driven.” I shake my head.
“ I think you should have told him the truth.”
“ He’s a hit head Jabs. He’ll blow this whole thing out of proportion. I’m fine. Nothing happened to me so the reason why he should know and get worried over nothing.” I shake my head.
“ I can’t believe Thando is into drugs and she just left us like that. Did you happen to see her? ”
“ No I haven’t. Do you really think she knew what was going to happen? ” Inga asks.
“ Maybe. I don’t know what to think with her. I’m done with her ” We go to class and attend.
The whole day feels like it is moving slowly cause I don’t have my laptop with me and my assignment are so many. God I’m gong to have to sleep late and have a long week. When classes end Inga and are dead tired. I’m gong to take a nap when I get home before I begin studying. Speaking of which. I need to ask Kwame if he could borrow me his laptop cause I sure as hell don’t want the one left with Natasha cause I don’t know what they could be doing with it. I’m done with those people.
Inga and are talking when I see that girl who was or still is Thando's friend. The one who said I owe her now for looking after Thando. She’s walking towards us followed by other girls. Damn what the hell does she want with me.
