"What do you do for valentines day?" asked Dalton.
He was sitting with Blair and Itzel at one of the colored chairs from the garden of campus. Cleo and Ayan weren't with them since Cleo was studying in the library and Ayan was doing some work in the lab. Dalton wanted to ask Itzel and Blair since they are creative and smart, and they might have an idea for Dalton of what to do for valentines day, and of course, what to give him as a gift.
"Go to a restaurant and have a romantic date." Blair suggested, she was a simple yet extravagant girl. There was so much for that brain of hers to come up with a surprising and interesting idea.
"I could do that...'' muttered Dalton, his hand resting on his chin, in thought. He was really just adding the suggestion to his mental list since he didn't have his notebook with him at the moment.
"That's just basic. Do something more creative, you're creative, you can think of something." said Itzel. She was also the intense and passionate type of woman.
"Well- I know, but I'm not sure what to do... I mean, we've done so much I can't think of something-"
"You've been together for what? Almost a year? Surely you haven't done everything there is to do on dates." Blair interrupted him. It was true, Dalton and Andrew had been together for 11 months. The time passed in a blink of an eye. And it was also true that they hadn't done everything there was to be done on dates. They've gone to the field at midnight, they've slowed danced in Andrew's room, or in the field at night, they've gone to a car movie theater, to a concert, they've taken baking class together, read several books in each other's arms. There was a lot they've done.
"I could give him jewelry?..."
"Hold on, you haven't even thought about what to give him?" Itzel asked him. Dalton went quiet. This answered Itzel's question, "no mames- Why wouldn't you have a gift in mind?" she said, Blair wheezed, Itzel was not yelling but definitely complaining.
"I did think about something. But it sounds like not enough." Dalton answered, his hands rubbing together nervously.
"What is it?" Blair asked, putting her arm around Itzel, she did that so many times now that it was a reflex.
"Love letters..." answered Dalton, looking away from the two pairs of eyes looking at him. Blair bit her lip trying not to laugh, Itzel cooed an "awww!"
"That's so sweet! You should definitely do that! You're good at writing down your feelings, right?"
Dalton looked up at her, slightly embarrassed, slightly blushing. "I guess I am," he whispered.
"But what about the date? What can I do?" he asked again.
They all went quiet. They were thinking of an answer when Blair yelped, "The fair!! The valentines day fair that's going on tonight!!" she gave a sudden jump out of the chair she was sitting in, "you aren't working on that one tonight, right?!"
"Well no, I'm having a date with Andrew so-"
"So go to the fair!! You can spend your time there, eat dinner! And then you can finish your date on the ferris wheel!"
Of course, why didn't Dalton think of that any sooner?
"That's actually a good idea," said Dalton after thinking about it for a minute.
"I know, I'm a genius after all." said Blair, fanning her hair back as she sat back down in her chair.
"Do the love letters then place them in a box, wrap that box in a bow and give it to him." said Itzel, moving his hands, signaling the actions while doing so.
