"You going to try out for quidditch this year? Isn't your brother a keeper?" Pandora said, her arm linked with mine.
"I didn't know girls could try out?" I said.
"Gryffindor have a girl, Marlene Mckinnon I think her name is," Pandora said, "She takes it very seriously."
"All Gryffindors do." I said.
I wanted to try out for the Quidditch team, it was more masculine and that's what I craved. But my mother insisted I stay feminine, stay out of messy activities. Such as, Quidditch.
I didn't even know as much on Quidditch back then, so who else was I supposed to ask other than my brother?
"I'll speak to Sirius about it." I said to Pandora.
"Speak to me about what?" Sirius asked, pushing into the middle of both of us. "Hey, Pandora."
"She wants to do Quidditch." Pandora said encouragingly.
"Maybe. I don't know yet." I said.
"Slytherin could use you, the rest of them are shit." Sirius shrugged.
"Language!" Pandora said, nudging Sirius.
"You're thinking about what mother would say, aren't you?" Sirius asked.
I hated how well he could know me if he tried. The fact he could sense something was up by me fiddling with my fingers. Or biting the inside of my mouth. I hated how well he knew me.
"I think, fuck mother-" Sirius said, and was interrupted again.
"Language, Sirius!" Pandora reminded him.
"And do whatever you want." He finished.
"For once I agree with Sirius. It's your life Regina. Not hers." Pandora smiled, reaching my arm over Sirius.
"So, join the team. Who gives a fu- one? Who gives one what mother thinks?" Sirius said, and he patted my back. "I have to go, ironically for Quidditch. But please join, Reg. It'll be great."
"Fine," I smiled. "I'll do it."
"Ah, brilliant!" Pandora clapped.
"Wicked, i'll see you later." Sirius smiled.
That was a big day for me, going against my mother, for the first time. Doing something that I wanted to do, not including my mother. That's also the day I decided to not go by the name Regina, and change to Reg.
